And perhaps kuntakinte posting on 19-01-2012 02:12 PM made things clear:

"Not sure if this helps. During the powerkit briefing at quill, the tech specialist has specifically mentioned that the 320d 184hp versions come with the new uprated torque converter by default whereas the 177hp is still on the older one hence the reason why the powerkit was not available for the latter." - kuntakinte

See link below:

http://www.bmwclubmalaysia.com/forums/showthread.php?44795-BMW-Performance-Diesel-Power-Kit/page4

If kuntakinte was right, there is a misrepresentation case. I was made believe that the value of money I was going to spend for the power kit was inclusive of a new up-rated TC, which was already fitted in my car by default indeed. Legal case...

I think that's where I got my info as well. So ya legal case or not? I wanted a power kit as well but BMW Malaysia decided not to bring in the 177hp version with or without the torque converter.

Enjoy your new car :D

hehihehiehe ,,, now totally love this car!

1. DVD on the Move
2. Automatic Close side mirror with remote control by pressing the lock button 2 seconds. It will fold back when you unlock the car.
3. Digital Speedometer when you press the OBD
4. Comfort shutdown: by pressing the shutdown button 2 seconds, the key is unlocked, no need to press then lock
5. BMW Live: You can access to current location Weather, pictures, interested points, Wiki QypeX, which you can share information... This is the best app!
6. Emergency eject: This is the most expensive one, don't think you can have it.

Dear Bro. jwah,

How is the new map works in your navigation after the upgrade?
Is it better then the original one?

You know for the original map from BMW, we can't even input Jalan PJU, even when you reach there the map can show you the Jalan PJU very clearly.

Cheers

..really new here..in forum as well as into BMW.
Not sure whether this is a proper section...

Live in Penang, looking for 320d...was quoted RM170000 for a 2009 car, 39000 mileage... not sure this was a good buy or not..
Feel quite a piss when look BPS (on line) got one with same year, 43k mileage and just slightly up at RM172800.. the only extra is that mine was 18" rim(similar to 325).... What you guys think?...
And others dealer keep telling me to avoid 320d due to high maintainance and low resale value... Help please....

Welcome fellow Penangite!:3:

IMHO try ask for:

1) extended warranty 1 yr and 5yr bsri or 100,000km (whichever comes first) as that is the going promo for e90s (normal warranty is 2 yrs or 60,000km and 3 yr bsri). This will start from registered date of the vehicle.

2) My experience with BPS with high milage is that you can tekan the prices lower, maybe 5-7% more. Also do shop around, Tian Siang at Juru may give you a better price. Heck try call AB, Ingress & Quill even! Most of their SA's are advertising on mudah.

3) For me Rm160k sounds fair if without the extended bsri & warranty. If worried about low resale value, better get a honda/toyota. Thats not why we are buying UDMs:3:

4) Dealers being dealers always talk crap la bro... U shud refer to OWNERS instead. Hope you have been reading up this thread from the start. Many questions have been raised about this.

5) BTW, Penang chapter is having a TT session tomorow 9pm, meeting up at Shell JE and will proceed to Autocity. Do join us if you can, can taxi ride with me if you want:3:

One last thing, as per rules & regulations of the forum kindly intro yourself at the newbies section here http://www.bmwclubmalaysia.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?30-Newbies

Cheers bro & welcome to the Dark side:rock:

My babys 1st checkup

Made appointment yesterday as the 'service due' came up on the iDrive. Mileage was 10600km. Sent the car to AB Pg at 8am and by 11am got the call that she was ready. My only complaint was the creaking sound of the rain channel against the door sills which they rectified by putting special tape along the door frame. The service advisor said the whole role of tape provided by BMW cost RM1k!:stupid: - crazy or not... but as long as its fixed I aint complainin'. Now completely silent ride:top:

Brought back home, popped the hood for a closer inspection and noticed the elaborate engine cover was shaking :motz:

e0e096fc.jpg

One side of the rubber bush holding the cover was gone... again! and not only that, one hose bracket (on right side of pic) wasnt fixed properly :hmpf: Manage to fix the thingy but have to bring back to SC tomorow for the bush. Like I got nothing else better to do la... daammmmmiiittt.....

Note to self: always inspect the car thoroughly before taking home, be it BMW or Plotong.... You never know what 'surprises' is install for you..

Do not listen to ill-advised people who thinks they know a lot but doesn't know what they know.

Without wanting to restate what has already been written countless times in this forum, just take the cue from a recent news - naza Peugeot has just launched the 508 GT - a 2.2 diesel powerplant churning 220hp, 450nm. What's ironic is that the powerplant was earlier said to be built to euro4 fuel specs. Naza has claimed extensive testing over the past year plus and has confirmed it has no issues running on our 'dirty' euro 2m. FYI, this engine is even equipped with a diesel particule filter.

Enough said already. As for resale value, I can only tell you that when it comes to this BMW oil burner, resale value is only secondary (in any case, diesel sedan cars are growing in awareness. Look no further, aren't you looking for one now? :)) bcos you will be hard pressed to find another car giving so much joy and fun for the price. This car is a keeper......
I hv a bad habit of changing cars every 2-3 years, my last being a recond Audi TT before the cross-over to the dark side and I can tell you, well into my second year of ownership and I am still enjoying this German slut since she got laid the first time. Of course, if BMW launches the f30 325d M sport, then maybe my eyes will start roving again.

So stop asking silly questions. Follow your heart, Put down that deposit, add a powerkit, vector, DTUK and/or pedalbox and you will be in driving nirwana

Just crap. I got buddies running 320d and 530d with just regular mantenance, at the usual petrol engined cars cost. I was convinced enuff to get a diesel myself.

kuntakinte, you have put in everything to superboost your machine. What's your top speed?

No leh. Only powerkit and dtuk. Yet to dyno but from pure butt feel, it's priceless.

There are others like Carlson who added more stuff

You're only missing the pedalbox and pipercross. Go go go ;)

The biggest problem with all these mods is that you're already close to the max potential of the car, it's lovely but any other mod will not give as much of a boost. :(

Probably may do the pedal box in the near future but not pipercross. Used to have k&n in my previous ride, and while it did felt more responsive, it also caused a lot of fine particule grains you can feel by rubbing the engine oil between your fingers. I guess it's a compromise for better air flow.

You are right on the performance limits of the mods. The 320d is gonna be hard to replace for the torque fanatics. Maybe, we can take the cue from Paul tan and take the 30d

BMW old and new 2012 maps are just junk...you need papago or garmin RM200 only.

Papago give you a precise map and turn to turn, however you cannot zoom out easily.
BMW lousy map work best to zoom out to 1km or 2km range.

I always have two maps running

BMW map also very good to bring you back home

320d works best with PPK + DTUK in my opinion.
if you refer back the PPK power curve, you will notice that the lowend torque is much lower than those DTUK alone. However both about the same at the 4000rpm region (map 3). Therefore if these two work together you will get max lowend and max highend.

hey you guys out there, is there anything in particular that i need to be aware of my 320d? just loaded the bitch with the diesel power kit and loving every drive of it!

dont get drunk with the torque!
