Dear madjazz,
I just got my 320d right before cny and since then i truly understand the meaning of "sheer dirving pleasure". I was once a guy like you having skeptical over our diesel quality for 320d but after a thorough study and several surveys conducted, i gained back the confident and i'm enjoying the ride everyday. Full tank of RM103 gave me slightly more than 800km mileage, that was my first recor of its fuel consumption. 5-year TCO on fuel saving is huge......go for it madjazz!

My can only reach 650km per tank of RM103. Just normal daily cruise from KLANG to sunway with some minor acceleration just to test the power. any comment on this?

it all depends on your driving style and daily route...
personal observation
if I am stuck in stop-go traffic all the time, then the number is averagely good..
if I am using the car as a school bus, i.e., short (

The best I got from my experimental Eco drive to Muar-klang-Muar Klang-Muar is 5.5L/100KM, average speed is 100-130km/h. Translate into full tank is 1100km/tank (refuel at 850km afraid of long traffic jam). Every time the fuel consumption drops, it awards you a longer distance. However, it is very dangerous, because it was so boring during the test....sleepy indeed. But as School bus...the best is 650km per 55L.

I get between 7.3 to 7.8 l/100km in mixed city - highway drive and I drive hard, and in DS mode, where situations allowed ie on freer city highways, B roads etc. Getting 6.8 to 7.1 l/100km in aunty mode is possible but at the cost of driving joy, and thus pointless.

After the brief experimentation period with FC and realisation how amazing this BMW oil burner engine is, getting the best FC is not your objective anymore bcos The torque is so damn addictive that one will have absolutely no guilt - none whatsoever - when the accelerator is pressed, and pressed hard - all the time, everytime, that it is a sin to aim for good FC and sacrifice sheer driving pleasure

Currently, i'm using Shell B5 diesel and the performance is ok so far. May i know anyone here with different findings with diesel from other brand?

Have tried various diesels and here's my take:
1) Shell - bad consumption and even worse power wise..
2) Esso - worse than shell though I have a friend driving a Rexton and he swears by it
3) Petronas - good in both categories but see point 4
4) Bhp - good in both categories plus I get additional 2% rebate on my UOB One card, a totally of 7% rebate PLUS nozzles fit perfectly as opposed to the occasional headache with Petronas
5) Caltex - haven't tried and not planning to

Very normal..my daily commute to kl to pj in horrid jams gets me 650km @9.8l/km tops with occasional pedal to the metal driving style. Just got back from JB and got 710km @6.4l/km with quarter tank left

Ergh, rear light bulb fused plus >140km/hr whistling at rear windscreen is soooooo annoying..do I have to leave my car at SA for the entire day to get this fixed?

Thanks m3ngsta for your reference. Will try BHp for the next fill and post my finding here.

Yea, the whistling sound is really annoying and it can't make u enjoy the pleasure of sheer driving. Luckily i do not have that kind of problem. The sooner u fix it, the quicker u get back your sheer driving pleasure.

Yes you should be able to change the air filter but I think that's cover under BSRI no? I am not going to spend on it until my BSRI is over :D

If you do find K&N air filters for the 320d in Malaysia in stock please let us know, I've pinged a few and none of them carry that particular model.

Call Wong 0167442406, his price quite reasonable, I got my K&N filter from him.

Rear light bulb fused as in it behaves like one of ur rear signal light is blown? One side blinkin faster than d other? If yes, it took me abt 3hrs to change. Whole rear light cluster gotta be replaced.

It's the light closer to the number plate..not lighting up and the idrive didn't even warn me of it (normal?) is this covered by BSRI and if not, where can I go get the replacement?

Sorry bro, different part on the light cluster. Mine is rear signal light. If that part can be fixed by replacing a rear light bulb, then I believe it is not covered under BSRI (same as our front fog lights). If the light closer to the number plate is LED, then it shud be covered under warranty. Any bros out there can confirm if the above is right?

It's the non-signal bit of the rear light cluster..quite disappointed with BMW for not rectifying all these 'common' ckd faults from the e90..Should be a bulb replacement solution I reckon

Agree bro! Recently found out that the rubber seal on my front passenger door not sealing properly. Of late, each time I wash my car, my front floor mat gets wet. To the other forumers, please take note of this and check under ur front passenger floor mat. Got it changed under warranty. SC explanation: Rubber seal not suitable for our weather. Ain't our cars tropicalized? or this is jst an exercise to short change us on the quality of our beemers? Go figure

That is correct.q.. Best diesel for my Rexton's performance is the one from ExxonMobil.
Second best for me is Shell euro4 diesel...

All engines work differently with the different fuels.. So you will hv to try all until u get the best bang..
In 320d case... I suppose BhP is the best bang from what the users are saying...

Hello fellow forumers,

I have been silently monitoring this forum for almost 1 year. I am currently driving an 03' E46 Sienna Red 318i LCI, and had just cracked my piggy bank to own that lovely E90 320d that i read so much from this section. Thus, here I am, joining in as an official member of the "d" clan. :top:

I would be expecting to get my ride in a couple of days, with Wingard Royale tint, courtesy of the SA. The car is in stock setup, but I do hope I can get tips here of changing that. hehe. I considered the powerkit upgrade, but it is no more at introductory price. :( perhaps i would concentrate on changing the rims later and remove that horrible Potenza RFTs.

So, nice to finally join you guys!
