Jules ... chasing and trying to overtake is so syiok, I realised its not easy at all. Try too hard and you end up falling further back. Hehehehe ... its really an art to be learnt.

tianci, Chasing And overtaking is learning the art of patience my young one :p. its about not getting sucked into the person you are chasing lines. Especially we know you like to look at asses :p

Jules,

Yup John got amazing stamina and skill. Think he is with Dash Racing now if not mistaken. Havent been in contact with him. But he should still be in around as he took up the second home program if not mistaken.

I read in kartingasia forum, he retired from the sports... That some time ago. Would be sad to lose someone with that skills.

Guys,

i dun read this forum too often hence sorry if I am delayed in responding.

When is the event on this 26th Jan?

Someone asked about my lap times.......as far as I recall, if you can get 1:10, that would be already be very very good. Honestly, I doubt I got even that! :) but then those who are familiar in racing will know that fastest lap times, only count so much in a real race. In our 125 karts, we go below 54seconds....but on Mojo D2 tyres.

John King has indeed retired from sports.....as I read he was fed-up with the politics of the sports, parent's expectation and even driver's unrealistic aspirations - all of which i know first hand as I have seen generations coming through the sports. From his FB, he aspires to open a restaurant...... anyhow, he is a top bloke, on track and off.

Cheers!

The last best lap time I did was within a sec of Jazeman's best lap, he did that during MYkart race event few months which I was present... I had the best kart of the lot... But as Jules said, shiok sendiri only.. Nevertheless it was fun going full out on an almost empty track..
Anyway, with slight changes to the track along the way, laptimes have since gone down.. Things like removing the kerbs here and there so karters can cut some corners...

Another thing, single seater Karting and track driving are 2 different things. Only thing in common is the racing line... The techniques are different and can't be cross-applied directly.

80cc, 100cc and 125cc all requires different techniques. 80cc karts can go full out even at corners but not with the 100cc... 125cc requires even more finesse...

One thing for sure, it's an expensive sport.. :p Hence I only karted less than 20 times all these years.

From the way Fabian talk I better just drive 50cc kart la. Hehehe ... Must learn finesse
