Gear stuck in "P"

hello guys,
its been a while since i posted anything.
was on an E39 and now currently upgraded to 2008 E60 LCI Msports.
there was once when "P" was engaged and gear refused to engage.
anyone had the problem before?
left the car overnight and the problem went away.
had it diagnosed and fault was the gear selector shift fault.
any ideas?

Hi Kay,
When you purchased the car did you get the transmission oil changed or at least had it checked? You can try to reset the transmission and see if it helps. If the problem persists its advisable to get it checked it again. I learned the hard way to not always listen to mechanics and their BS.

changed almost everything bro.
how do u reset the tranny?
anyways it only happened once.
looked at youtube videos and one said it may be the fuse.
