It's amazing how most pro-gov people can just about turn anything and everything into a racial issue..... Anyway jokes aside. I don't really see how debating about the short-comings of the current ruling party is construed as racial bashing.

So true bro...its almost liek the pro gomen supporters are given a "How To" handbook to create and use use racial divide to get the the opposition back to the fold... next step is to use scare tactics and use the nons as the bogeyman to say that we will take away their rights etc... Come on guys, get a new script!!!!

We're discussing why our fuel prices have been hiked up... how does the colour of my hidden appendage matter here???? :stupid:

Let's look at this from a different angle bros...so far there seems to be one person championing the cause of the gomen. this speaks for itself unless someone wants to further argue whether or not this is indeed the general public opinion.

lets not go so far, take the merdeka day celebrations for example, how many people even bother to put up flags these days. compare this with our neighbours down south or are we not allowed to have an opinion about how things are in other countries and be forever grateful to the current ruling gomen....?

The logic goes something along this line, if you read what our dear friend b33m3r wrote coupled with what you normally read on Utusan....

Country run by BN government ---> Biggest Component Party is UMNO ----> Represent the Malay population ----> ----->

Any criticism towards the government ====>Criticism of the Malay people

I have always thought this is a brilliant strategy (think about it)!!! :top:

Afterall, they have been in power for more than 55 years and these guys are brilliant politicians :)

The longest government in power was the Colorado Party which ruled Paraguay for 61 years (1947-2008). We are on the way to break that record, with the Alliance Party (Party Perikatan as it was known then) won the first election in 1955.

Malaysia BOLEH!:top:

that logic is only sustainable so long as the majority is illiterate and blindly accept what leaders claim. today, more and more intellects are finding such low tactics an insult to their intelligence. the trend in recent elections indicate that the rakyat now wants to make their own minds.

Terribly flawed logic but it works here... then couple it with scare tactics and you have the masses under your thumb... Lets hope the Rakyat will one day wake up and smell the shite... it will happen...just dunno when..could use Paul here on this

In history the mistake many governments have done is to underestimate its People...

From the 172 posts in this thread, I summarise that:

1) It is sad that in our country, we cannot be gentlemen and agree to disagree. The situation is "Agree with us at all costs or we will do this and that to you."

2) Our leaders must be regarded as infallible. Is this right? Can we not question them and what they do? After all we are the ones to put them in power and they survive on our tax ringgit.

3) Is questioning our leaders the same is - dare I say it - treason? Do we not speak out because we care and have a stake in this country?

Hmmm.....

Nicely said ... Again i am confident of the direction Najib is leading us to.

Can the immediate past PM and current PM explain where he is leading us?

What is PM’s Dept doing with RM4 billion?

It is alarming to read that the government has set aside RM4 billion for the PM’s Department alone this year.

Equally shocking to hear that the number of civil servants in the same department has doubled in the space of seven years since Mahathir stepped down – from 21,045 in 2003 to 43,544 in 2010.

That’s a hundred per cent increase in headcount in seven years! Is this part of the “KPIs”?

RM4 billion is many times more than the annual budget of any state government.

For instance, the budget for the Selangor government, which has to look after over 5 million residents in the state, is RM1.3 billion for 2010. For Penang, the state government’s budget for 2010 is RM0.7 billion.

The Prime Minister needs to justify the large allocation for his department and explain what 43,544 staff are doing. The accounts for his department must also be made public to show how all this public money is being spent.

According to the Malaysian Insider, Nazri says the increase is due to the ‘creation of new agencies’ and additional posts. What new agencies? and what additional posts during a time of economic difficulties?

The PM’s Department should take a leaf from the White House and put online the list of all the employees’ names in the PM’s Department, along with their official job titles and salaries.

That’s RM4 billion of public money.

Who is subsidising whom now?

Justin, there's actually more than RM4b being set aside for the PM's department than reported :)

1. Well judging from the way you postulated your thoughts on this matter, you are way off the mark. Seriously!!

2. Again, part of the book's focus was how TDM handled UMNO's affair during that period of time and of course it was not pretty to say the least. On a separate note I do not have any idea how one can insinuate and make this a racial issue. In any case any umno member would actually be pleased with these revelations, more so when $$ involved. Wouldn't you want to know about the missing funds? And how can this be construed as an attack against umno?!!!

3. As for the definition of what constitutes as public knowledge, once that information is available on the public domain it is public knowledge! Likewise, what you posted here is deemed to be public irrespective if there are 10 views or 2000 views which in anyway is below 0.001% of the population. Got the drift yet?;)

1) Way off the mark??? LOL You based your belief's on some tabloid material and i'm way off the mark??? Funny laa u bro I've posted facts and link to the facts ... Can't say the same thing about you bro :stupid:

2) UMNO represent a large majority of Malay's ... It will be hard not to construed remarks by you as non-racial as you are not a malayplus the fact that UMNO fights and represent Malay right since independence day. So do answer me this ...
How can you criticise UMNO about it's policy and management when the policy is done in the best interest of Malay's without it being racial???? Maybe you are really being ignorant or just to cause fireworks.

Please before wanting to comment about UMNO further do comment about your own political party i.e. DAP maybe???

Let's talk about PKR ... A party that champion on equality and democracy AND YET elected Anwar Ibrahim as the DEFACTO LEADER???? regardless who is the president or chairman of PKR LOL laughable isn't it????

3) LOL ... So you're using a definition of the web as a justification LOL Maybe you live too much on the net (using taxi driver as an example of hardhip ). Like I said the book sold less than 20k copies the majority couldn't even be bothered!!! And yet you mentioned and highlight about UMNO ... Obviously your post is politically mnotivated plus all the post you made earlier does not contain an iota of facts just a lot of disgruntlement and complain based on lies and propaganda LOL

...with cheapskates like mizhan...the book sold 20k copies but read by a millon people...Possible?

And your problem with UMNO is ????

Anyone can critise BN as it is a component of many political parties. Your logic of BN=UMNO is flawed to say the least and proof enough you're post are always politically motivated and have racial sentiments to it.

Why is it when someone shares his or her opinion, it becomes a racial issue when there is non in the first place?

who are the real culprits causing racial tension? look at kelantan, even the chinese vote for PAS. have you ever thought for a minute how this is possible?

do you really think people are really racial in this country? if so, then I would not be served makan in a malay restaurant or my charges would be different or the chinese repairman would not repair the problematic BMW brought in by a malay driver...

what i am saying is, please be responsible with your remarks. it is very irresponsible of politician and certain people to bring up racial issues when there is none.

if you wish to rebut my remarks, you are most welcome to do so. I have chindian relatives and I also have malays relatives when my great-grandmother remarried and converted later in life in kelantan. i also have half siamese relatives. i also have half aussie cousins and we all have a good time during get togethers.

irregardless of whether or not its information from some tabloid, i also don't read the local newpapers because they are all owned by political parties and what we read is total crap and half truths with nothing much mentioned about your civil liberties and individual rights. these issues are linked with the rule of law and the separation of power.

again, if these topics are too heavy for you as you said earlier, then you have no right to talk about racial issues simply because you don't know what it means!!
