not to pour cold water on you bro.. but the average Malaysian is finding it difficult to observe real and positive policy changes, other than the propaganda that is.

The latest news about unmarketable graduates makes it as plain as day that we are dishing out crap quality products that do not meet the bottomline requirements of globalisation... they cant even be hired by our local companies... a number of them are grads of arts and religion, whats the demand for those? MOst importantly, a number of them are graduates due to government policies, which are decisions that consequently come back and bite you in the blooming arse...so now we have to spend more money to re-educate these 'graduates' whilst leaving less and less funds for more important issues like proper education, health and the well being of the Rakyat...

AGREE 100% with you.....

I tend to see more scandals and money politics with Najib in power!

I think this is due to the emergence of alternative media. TDM had a tighter control on MSM back in his time so anything that wasn't really pro-gov goes unreported.

Again, I say this...to have an in depth knowledge of the "happenings" during our beloved Tun Dr. Mahathir's 22 years reign, please read Barry Wain's Malaysian Maverick with an open mind :top:

Plenty of good stuff about UMNO, how the war chest was created initially by Kuli under Tun Razak's directive, where the funds to build PWTC came from (allegedly not paid back), why the government bought back MAS shares at RM8, why our toll rates keep going up (who is benefitting from it), Daim and UMNO's secret funds (or missing funds), BBMB scandal, Perwaja and etc etc.

p/s JohnJ, you want the book?

I bought it already bro..including the malay dilemma...yet to read though..if you offered earlier, I would've saved 150...hehehehe

LOL ... a book by a disgruntled former editor of Wall Street Journal??? I really hope he can and will prove the allegations but alas it's all propaganda and lies until then  ...

Albundy do you have something against UMNO???

It is hard to observe changes on a Macro level bro ... We just have to wait and see how he does during his term.

No, have nothing against UMNO. UMNO has not done any wrong but the people running and using UMNO to enrich themselves are the folks that I am against :)

Again, read with an open mind and form your opinion accordingly. It's up to TDM to sue him if indeed all are baseless allegations. I assumed you have not read the book yet, the "allegations" if you want to term it that way, are backed up with plenty of supporting facts/evidence I would say.

Barry did his homework, including the 3 interviews with TDM, the onus is on TDM to prove otherwise :)

In all honesty, after reading the book I do not think TDM is responsible for all the "happenings", in some cases he genuinely wanted to solve the problems but it backfired on him, cases like BBMB scandal and the London Metal Exchange where Malaysia's bet on tin prices caused the country to lose billions (ill advised).

Cheers

p/s b33m3r, I can loan you the book if you wish to read it :)

You are against the people that run UMNO but not the party itself LOL ... I guess what you describe the above only happens in UMNO but not MCA, MIC, DAP and so on huh? ... Funny that isn't it?

Again the onus is on Barry to prove it ... Where's the proof?

UMNO is just a political party.

The people that runs it, doesn't own it (even though they behave like it, sounds like it and looks like it).

Similarly, I love this country even though I disagreed with the government's policies, see the difference?? The government is not equivalent to the country, similarly with UMNO and the persons elected to run UMNO.

Bro, before you get too ahead of yourself, we are mainly talking about the man that used to run UMNO, and the happenings in his 22 years of power or terror to some.

As for MCA, MIC, PPP, Gerakan and even PBB (Taib Mahmud), perhaps we can talk about it when Barry Wain writes a new book on Taib Mahmud, Ling Liong Sik or Samy Vellu :)

Just read the book and form your opinion la, or if you already formed your opinion without reading it, then all power to you! Then there is no further need of discussion from you :)

Proofs and evidences are all in there. This is not like some surat layang without substance.

p/s my book offer still open for you

Cheers

This is taking a bad turn. Keep it rational, mate.

Please.

difficult man if everytime anybody writes anything need to supply proof of everything and later must again proof the proof they supplied and on and on and on... just read it for what it is. even old man also not complaining and i thought i read somewhere, but cannot remember where so dont ask me to proof, old man said that feller can say whatever he likes cos it's just his opinion and politicians must just accept all opinions for or against or something like that.

they want to increase fuel price increase lor. apa boleh buat. what for i tension until puke blood, lausai cannot sleep. just adjust my spending accordingly... so far the increase is not making my life so miserable that i feel like jumping down from klcc.

LOL ... UMNO policies and the values, it stands for and represent, is the mandate by the members of UMNO. If you have something against UMNO then you're against the people that UMNO represent. If you have something against TDM then say something about TDM but not UMNO.
The fact that you're mentioning UMNO's war chest and UMNO's secret funds and etc shows very much about your lack of judgement in understanding the sensitivity of the issue and of course it will only invite speculation whether you have a hidden agenda when mentioning UMNO.

P/s: Thanks for the offer but i don't read tabloid materials about our country especially from a gwailo :listen:
