Sorry guys, was bz resting during the weekend and bz working during the past few days. In fact, I was up in Penang on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Yeah I saw your leng chai face and leng chai silver car... A bit tired aledi at the time after driving all the way back from Penang chasing fast M3, S320 CDI and being tiong by a E65 760iL..
Anyway, here's a overdue FR...
I was the first car to arrive at the 1st rendezvous point outside the Petronas Station opposite Eastin. Even had time to pump petrol before DMC came with his pristine looking white stallion in the shape of E28 on 17" original AC Schnitzer Type1 rims. Then came Zoggee with the infamous Yellow 'donut making' submarine. The rest didn't make it but did managed to contact me to tell me that they're going to some special kite flying competition except for JDY who didn't manage to call me. Maybe he went flying with his kite.
It was drizzling a little in PJ but not heavy enough to dampen any of our spirit in the attempt to try to be SMARTer by using the SMART Tunnel. The 3 of us took a leisure drive along the route. xtrakooljustin wanted to join the convoy but he was too far behind so he had to take the CLEVER tunnel on his own. The drive in the tunnel was an uneventful one as you can't really go fast without punishing yourself and the car as the road surface is bumpy. Something like the concrete road on PLUS but a tad more bumpy. Zoggee had a little fun vrooming his foxy exhaust in the enclosed tunnel. Those who had driven in tunnels with him before shud know how it sound like. It's loud but nice...
After we emerged from the tunnel feeling BRIGHT, we proceeded to the 2nd rendezvous point in Ampang. Silver and boy.yussof were aledi there waiting for us. However, pujiess joined the kite flying gang and probably got blown away with the kite as she didn't call also...
fadhil318 arrived in his black E30 as we parked. Another member, mafia1118, came slightly later. The last to arrive is Justin-StuckInTheJam.
All in all, we have 8 cars when we left the Petronas. Slowly but surely, we made our way to the lookout point. The 'mountain pass road' leading to the lookout point is a lot nicer to drive on in the day unless u have super bright HID lights. Anyway, we took our sweet time to get to the top. We had a little episode on getting a parking space but it's all worth it after we get the chill looking at the KL view. There were 2 more restaurants there since the last time i went there. The one we chose on Friday night was run by a middle east man. The drinks and food are worth the slight premium we paid for. Justin-StillABitDazed was wondering how come his hot tea was clear in color. That's bcos he has to choose the tea of his choice from the round container.
mafia1118 and his wife were the first to leave. It was their first time going to the lookout point eventhough they stay in Ampang. So they have found another place to bring their kids... Apparently, the most of the Ampang folks who joined us for the drive didn't know about the place... I guess they all owe me a drink for bringing them there... The rest of us stayed on and keep ourselves entertained until about 1.30AM..
I led them down the hill, then we all headed our separate ways. I chose the take the SMART tunnel again on the return route (just to be doubly sure I get SMARTer).. The return route is on the upper deck of the tunnel. Still as bumpy as the middle deck we tried earlier. So will SMART really solve the congestion in town? Time will tell, especially once they start collecting toll.
