Read my post again.. I quoted RM2500 per pair :p
Wow... you are able to DIY yourself? I have to salute you la bro... I wish that I know more about engineering. So when will you "gao tim" your blinking during start up problem? Will there be any problems in the long run???

i must have got confuse with the pricing quoted by others and you...sorry bro...

most probably i wont do the blinking thingy coz it would costs too much time for me to tune the suppression circuit and apply it on the new circuit board...furthermore i can live with the blinking thingy coz its kinda cool though...haha

been using my home made circuit close to 10 months now...so far so good...

Congratulations on your new ride! In my opinion, the first things to change are the rims and M5 side mirrors. The M-Sport kit is pretty enough as it is. Take your time to enjoy them before adding anything to it - like AC or Hamann for example - or even changing them completely like I did.

Back to the point, 19 inch is a little small nowadays to be honest. But since you're a family man with wife and incoming kid (I got that from your other thread - congrats with the baby by the way), I guess comfort is important and the having to incessantly look out for pot holes isn't at all fun to say the least, if you went for 20. BUT, if you don't mind the hassle and want your car to look pretty, then 20 is the way to go.

My advise is to change to M5 mirrors only if you have changed your rims, be it 19 or 20. They really enhance the overall look of the car and they look better with bigger wheels. Well...everything looks better with bigger wheels but I don't see a point in changing the side mirrors if you decide against changing the wheels. Just my personal opinion. Also, get the non-foldable ones if your car does not have that feature. SOme would tell you to get the foldable ones and wire it to your key remote so that they fold when you lock your doors and unfold when you unlock. I'm a firm believer of not messing with the electronics so I'm highly against that idea.

Which brings me to the next point - new tail lights. Not only they're costly (as a few already mentioned, RM2,500 for a pair and another RM2,000 or so for a new motherboard), they again require you to mess with the electronics. Sure, the new tail lights are pretty, but they're hardly worth RM4K+ and all those retro-wiring if you asked me. The money could be spent on things more worthwhile (and more noticeable) like the AC or Hamann lips as I've mentioned above.

Unfortunately, I just sold both sets of my used 19 inch rims at a steal, so I've got nothing to offer you, but if you're interested in 20s, I'm willing to let go of my Breyton Flame Sport with Michelin tires for a reasonable price. Email me at vince_skr@hotmail.com in the event you're interested.

For the meantime, enjoy your new ride :top:

:top: I agree that 19" rims are a bit small but believe me, I have done a lot of thinking on whether to go for 20" or not... I think that I have to settle for 19" coz - 1) family comfort is my priority and 2) 19" is cheaper :D as I have to consider the maintenance cost for the car.

I have done some research and is looking at either Breyton or Hamann rims... not cheap I can say but if I trade-in my original M-sport rims plus the run-flat tyres, I should be able to purchase.

About the side mirrors.. I have to put aside first... as I have to upgrade the CCC to MYS specs which will cost approx. 7k, window tinting about 2k... etc... sigh... there goes my money

wah...E60 525i LCI M-Sport looks really tempting....if only BMW Malaysia offer Alpine White here...must bear with it....bear with it.....cos the new 5er is due launched in 1 year's time...
congratz on your new ride...u'll deserve many pairs of envy eyes rolling on the street....
