If upgrading the navi to pro doesn't cost a bomb it might be a good alternative if not the 8" iDrive screen really looks quite tempting.

To be honest, you will surely have to spend at least 6-8K to change the whole thing I'm not sure how cheap you can get but looking forward for some good news. I'll follow suit if it doesn't cost a bomb.

To retrofit a complete CIC locally it would cost nearly RM20k whereas if outsource from overseas (remote coding) would cost anywhere within 2000-2200 euro.
As for CCC retrofit, it will be lower around 900 euro for remote coding and possibly RM8k locally.

My aim now is to try asking around locally (maybe starts with Obermaier) about upgrading to CCC and if it cost too high then I would be going outsourcing method (remote coding).

I know but RM8K just to put a Navi is quite expensive ain't it? I'm not sure but if I can spend RM8K, I rather buy a used E60 equipped with a Navi at the first place and it saves me all the troubles. Alternatively I can consider spending RM13-14K for a full i-drive retrofit to the latest version like found in the F10. Someone in Singapore can do it and you don't need RM20K

Oh, RM13-14K for CIC retrofit is pretty much the same cost as opting for remote coding.

Contacted the Polish guy and he quoted the price mentioned earlier.

and I think the reason why if do locally cost twice as much is because of installation and testing.

I noticed there is a bluetooth setting on idrive but it can't seems to be selectable. I wanted to test pairing with my phone but it said the bluetooth is disabled so I went to setting and tried to enable it but it won't. Any suggestions?

Anyway, since I don't have the cradle and it also seems the bluetooth is not working OR probably the module was missing, I'll stick with my plantronics bluetooth headset. ^^
