OMG!! I can't imagine such things would happen. Anyway, looking forward to hear the final solution. Btw, the dealer will be paying for this repair like you mention earlier?

yes all the cost will pay by the dealer...if i dont have warranty how much must i spent to do a sludge?

I have seen a similar case (sludge) of a used UK e60 525i at my mechanic workshop. Quite impossible to remove the sludge as sludge has turned into sticky glue black tar. End of the day, sludged engine was replaced with a used Jap spec e60 525i engine at a price of RM25k.

My friend of mine recently bought a local CKD 2008 LCI e60 523i. The 1st owner had the engine replaced FOC during warranty by AB due to similar sludge problem. Mileage then was 56k km.

with such findings i wonder what would be the reaction of those RD engineers who had tested and set this 20K interval limit ? they tested till what millage, climate etc etc ....

well malaysians are very generous to fork out rm25K or even to follow strictly by the 20K service limit.

hope you can write it to BMW HQ on this issue ....

..small tip..never trust car dealer, and even if they did change oil, or whatever, im not sure is it proper oil engine require or not..so, for 2nd hand car is a MUST to go and change liquids in system immediately after u got vehicle..period..and if problem still persists , take a ride to mr. Sabri..hes one nice fella and doing BMW's beautifully ..

Iceman13's theory of Service Interval Schedule:

e60- 60 days service
e36- 36 days service
e39- 39 days service
e46- 46 days service

Sorry to see this bro. seemed like bad buy for u. i thinks as suggested by other forumer, insist the dealer to change the engine for you. flushing engine when bad as this may create other problem.

this only hppened to e60? how about other models? any case reported before?

E46 N42 has similar problem when serviced every 20k km, and now even SA at AB suggest to service at 10k km but on owner's cost during BSRI. Why cant they put it as standard for cars in our climate

Looks very clean, make sure to get new oil separator and the hoses as well.

anybody know how much the cost to do this if i dont have warranty?and after done this can i drive the car like i drive ferrari hahahaha...
