F30 test drive - 328i

Does 328i come with adaptive light? Couldn't find from the brochure.

I was told there are people shifted their booking to CKD/SKD. If you find the CBU meet your needs. please go for it. Maybe the spec of CKD/SKD will be better.

Saw 1 320d beside showroom and confirmed that i am his "owner". Too bad that his spec pushing me away from him.

Hahaha.. watched some review on utube and their 328i Sports trim got HUD and dynamics suspension thingy. But not sure how much was their selling price over in the UK.

I still not very confident that CKD would be better spec`ed, just worried salesman just trying to convince you to wait for the CKD and prevent from buying others, ofcourse assuming that they have no more CBUs already.

There is a 25% excise duty difference a 328 and 335 plus the 335 is almost fully specced with sunroof, variable sport steering, HUD, Harman Kardon stereo. The profit margin of course could be higher in the 335,535.... just like the M cars and all as they don't sell that many compared to the bread and butter models like 320i, 328, 520i and 520d.

As I said earlier and from what I have known, the profit margin is not like what you guys think it is. I would be more excited to be a grey importer that anything else

Instead of blindly kutuking BMW and accusing them of making vast margins...i wish more ppl are as well informed as Al. I spent many years in sales/mktg of a major Conti brand, and our margins were so slim, i dont even know why our principle wanted to stay in Malaysia, for some models the profit was less then 6k-8k GROSS, this is b4 advertising, media junkets, warranty claims, staff etc. its the AP Kings like mofaz and Naza who are making the obscene profits, all the major brands are here in malaysia mainly for branding and hoping that the gov will finally free the auto market

I see posters complaining about the specs, do u guys not realise Malaysia is not even a pin prick on BMW HQ map, a single medium sized town in China has higher BMW sales then the whole of malaysia, we should congratulate BMW Malaysia for launching the F30 so soon after the worldwide launch, i for one am very please that they brought in 3 models and 2 lines to choose from

At the moment. Why can BMW do it for the z4 with
Options? Basic spec rmxxx. Add a few package and
+ rm xxx. It's not that it's not possible. Audi does it. Why ? Is
their profit margin higher or are their car cheap to make?
As an end user. I don't give a rats ass about all that. It's what I get
for my moneyS worth.
End of the day I just don't want to drive a rm 300k car
And say to myself .. Damn wish I had the HUD or the NAV.
Aahhh but I can't coz I got to play my part and
buy a lesser specced car for the good of BMW brand in Malaysia.
And yes there are the grey import guys. But that's a whole
Diff ball game all together.

that's y i always pity those who have bought "5 silly" with no full comfort access !! maybe they just need a vehicle with a brand name BMW which can bring them from point A to point B, thats all !

- 3 months waiting list for 328i sports. coupe by 1.5 years time.
- sports is a better buy i think. luxury also very good looking in black that day.
- theme park excursion test drive can't really test the car. but legroom at rear seats are more by 4cm!

Is it fair to compare between Malaysia with China?

The main reason i withdrawn had been commented by achyung! Don't want to drive the car but keep on dreaming if the car has this and that.

My SA is not surprise when i phoned him. But he did mention that CKD will be better. Only GOD know!!

I am still BMW fan. To those already received their new car. Enjoy your ride!!

I agree with this, i doubt they going to add stuffs like HUD or adaptive suspension for CKD 320d and 328i

BTW, last time when they launched CKD f10 5 series, were they better spec than their CBU unit ?

yes, CKD F10 comes with Quad zone air-con and bigger LCD display !

i must agree.. the 335i price is way costly for a non-M bimmer..
