the taxing robbers shud be #$%@***&^%^&**....making people's life miserable!!!Sime is so rich anyway, make up for it la...we customers will appreciate n be loyal anyway!what we gonna take the deals n drive over to borneo izzit...

Test drove the 328 Luxury line on Sun. The acceleration was good for a 4 cylinder, but the engine purr was feeble and sounded somewhat like a Vios revved up. The F30 platform definitely felt nimble and responsive though, way better than my old F10 535i. I was somewhat disappointed with the specs on the CBU, with no sports suspension (have to look for aftermarket again?!), no HUD, cheap speakers, no reverse camera, no adaptive headlights, no adaptive dampers, etc etc. I don't think I'm going to get the 328i.

hehe.. precisely.. even the M Cars are limited to 250kph.. so based on seewai's field report, both luxury and sport 328i using similar suspension. Can anyone confirm this? or was it the body hugging sport seat with waist pump gave me a false sense of Sport variant has lesser body roll compare to the luxury line.. ?! :hmmmm2:

My test drive involves the 328i Luxury Line... Damn.. couldn't get the sports line assigned.

Power delivery is as expected as this is force-induced and thus the feelings is immediate power delivery (with very faint hint of lag). The 325i although nice sounding, have linear power delivery curve. I love flooring the 328i... although the engine sound not so great... but performance is definitely a BIG boost!

Body roll is evident at tight corner... perhaps Luxury Line... (but later confirmed with SA that both Sports/Luxury trim on same passive damper setup). I think my M-sports settings better. Thus, I'm really waiting for the M-sports variant to come and make a better judgement.

Seats in Luxury is comfortable but I believe the Sports seat have better cupping and thus I get the feeling of being more reassured and in control.

Overall, the performance, comfort, tech gadgets are really what I'm looking for in a sports saloon.

LOVE the HP/Torque Monitor... allows me to see how much I'm extracting from the car everytime i floored it!

see...whats the point of GRANDLY launching a brand new product(f30),but all cheapskate stuff inside...they think this is Proton/Perodua ka?I mean, whats the point of the latest release BMW,without all of the abv as mentioned by xero200?then end up looking for after market-disgracing the brand,n passion injected by their designers, developers & producers!

It is surprising for 300k++ car, the abovementioned would NOT be standard. But this is CBU ma, they still have to earn some (huge :p) right?

Wait for SKD whereby they charge u the same price, but give u more equipments to make up

And for sportier setup, wait for M-sports variant coming up soon

The local launch of the F30 may excite those who just want the latest car, but if you're really an enthusiast, you'd be disappointed with the options that really put the F30 to be the best in its class. We're really not getting the best out of it, and I know why I purchased a grey market F10 535i, and for a lot less. Nonetheless, the F30 didn't excite me, which I thought it would, coming from an ex F10 owner. Maybe you'd expect it to be less, since it's "just a 3 series", but I refute that statement as with the options available for the F30 overseas, it's a superb driver's car. Not the one sold here, I'm afraid.

I think the normal strategy is, release it with less options...then add it later bit by bit...that makes it fresh in the eye of the buyer. If you load it all in one go then there's nothing to shout about later down the road.

That's called taking Malaysians for a ride. And I guess it's simpler execution in developing countries since it's just how the car manufacturers instill grandeur lifestyle into buying a car. I was driving a BMW since being a student overseas, a used one that is, and it's dirt cheap.

Line 1. We're going further away from F30 328i test drive here. I was typing below and went back to first line to type what's in front of this sentence.

I studied in a country swarming with Peugeot and Citroens, dirt cheap too. Gasoline at 4.5FF/L that time. But I was more fortunate, commanding 2 different ZEVs over 4.5 years -> bicycles x 2. I wasn't wise enough to purchase vehicle insurance, dang and my first ZEV got stolen.

Malaysia is a small country with small market and minute purchasing power. I don't expect BMW Malaysia to bring in all available options and models AND make money here. Who don't want to make money?

What you see is what you get here and I guess this is what our beloved country can offer us. Many of us compare good things in other countries with bad things in our countries but never compare what's good here against what's bad out there.

Goto line 1

Before you begin flaming a reply to a thread, go to understand the basics of a thread. You post a comment, someone replies. And yes, the reply i posted didn't benefit the title of the 328i test drive, but the underlying message is to share what we are missing out. Nobody's complaining about your beloved country, I merely shared my thoughts on how corporations are taking advantage of Malaysians. Please read before spitting.

Correct correct, after all it's an open forum :4:

My sincere apologies if my typing offended or caused discomfort to you in some way.

Errr..did I miss something? Where's the flaming? Big words coming out suddenly. Chill out. Its past midnight.

Usual la...when the macam bagus syndrome kicks in one tends to terasa to the max...nothing new so no alarm... :p

I have never come across any corporation in business which has a mission statement to be charitable as business operating model...normally its to be profitable and sustainable...if they are expected to be charitable in fulfiling absurd and unrealistic customer demand can they tell their employee that sorry we all including you have to take paycut or no salary for this product cycle because ppl thinks we are making too much money and should give back to them...absurd right...its easy to talk and bla bla bla when its not affecting you directly...

i think the underlying message that's to be shared is - we're not given options to what we would like to purchase, despite the hefty price tag on the cars. Of course corporations exist to make money, but at least give the consumer a choice. I would turn to the grey importers to buy a car because of the options presented, and to be frank, when they start bringing in the F30 335s at a lower price in a year's time, I'm sure you'd see happy faces on every BMW enthusiast who can finally own the N55 with probably a price tag short of RM100K less than how much it's sold by the ADs.

AD gives you BSRI that covers everything within the period while grey imports (AP) comes with nothing :D At the same time, grey imports are often used units so this explains why they are a lot cheaper.

If anyone been to Quill PJ, you will see a customised 328i F30 with white stripes and sports package added. The SA offer me if i like those rims/steerings/kits of this sport package, they can customise for me.. but the price tag is very hefty, its additional RM70k more.

WoW, 70k more..

Anyone went Quill PJ to test drive? i was told only have 328i luxury as test car. Where else can i go to test the 320d and 328i sports together? Ingress? AB?

Since we all have limited test drive to "tekan" this car, see the following link below to bimmerpost, where the 328i and the 335i are driven back to back at Laguna Seca..cool stuff. The 328i's less nose heavy than the 335i, which lends it sharper turn-in during hard cornerings, while the 335i is better at straight line acceleration (obviously), the 335i certainly has better engine sound and both "easy" cars to drive fast due to their inherent balance. ..enjoy!

Shhhht.. I totally miss this!! To me, this is the only thing that makes the floating high definition display deserve to be where it is.

Also I'm very thankful they finally provide a water temperature gauge on the meter cluster, something missing from E9x non 335i model. It'll be nicer if there's boost meter, oil pressure, alternator voltage, 0~100 timer, G-force read out on the iDrive.. I would rather trade in the 11 speakers Harmon Kardon for these gauges on the iDrive..

Yeah, the sport seat helps in the reassurance feelings of in control.
