Funny, you should bring this up. Had that problem just last Saturday. 4 lovely leggy girls in denim hot shorts (for a pool party) who couldn't fit into my E92 or RCZ, and couldn't use dad's F10 that night. Had to delegate in the end, sigh!

What are friends for? :D

Wait for LCI, I suppose

Based on pass experience, chances are slowly additional features will be added to boast sales ... you know, BMW Malaysia always come out with limited edition prior to festive season or to clear stock at year end ....

so I remain hopeful to see 8.8" iDrive + additional stuff on the 320d :)

I guess the msport version with 8.8" screen will come out in august or sept. The price will be 260+. All these are marketing stretagies. They want to aim for a different market now. Later after abt 2 mths they will aim for different market like myself who want the msport. This way they can maximise their sales. I think Msport will be soon as they are competing for more sales which is also effected by the slowdown in europe. The answer is simple?? Why do they want to hold back on a model if there is a demand. Otherwise they will lose out sales to competitors.

Interesting. Btw the M Sport for Malaysia will be available mid to end Q1 2013.

I think it will be either within 2 mths or Q1 next yr. It will not be in late this yr. But why they 1 2 wait until Q1 next yr if they already have the model. The sooner they can recover their R &D cost , the better isnt it? Unless the sale of current 320d is very good lah.

We can only speculate why they will only bring in the M-Sport next year. I will also add that the SKD packs for the M-Sport may not be ready from BMW Germany since they only started their own production in their not too long ago.

We do not know BMW's priorities for Malaysia. I guess if more Malaysian's express their interest thru the dealerships, BMW Malaysia may hasten the production for the M-Sport.

M Sport and non M Sport are worlds apart. :0)

Jason ... The A4 2.0 is a Quattro. Still some like durian and some love rambutans. It's a personal thing. Very personal. As much as I love my E90 I still enjoy the fun that my CRZ gives me all the time.

Ha...like your words " Still some like durian and some love rambutans. It's a personal thing. Very personal."

Now, I hear from someone who heard from a senior salesperson of the largest dealership that it's available in 3Q 2012 at RM10k difference for F30 328i...! Fed up!

I have emailed to BMWM on the M-Sport version and they mentioned it will be available next year but not giving any actual date.

Hard to believe, but possible. How to confirm all this conflicting news? If indeed true I know many would cancel their order in favour of the M-Sport, including me...

not that hard to believe considering that Singapore is getting the M-Sport in Q3 2012......

BMWM probably did not want to launch 320i now in Msia yet as the pricing will be very difficult and might erode into 320d/328i market. Best is still to delay 320i for another 2-3 quarters while milk harder off the hardcore supporter with 328i.... maybe throw in M-Sport next quarter to entice all the hardcore buyer to snap 328i before launching 320i....

Truth be told, based on my experience with the 520i F10, the 320i F30 would be a blast. Not as explosive as the 328i but adequate for most. With 0-100 of 7.5 secs, heck, it outguns the E90 325i (based on 6-spd auto) and mighty close to C250!

that's default stock power.... F10 520i can be tuned in Singapore since few months ago, pretty sure soon F30 320i can be tuned to get the same 220PS/360Nm Torque as the tuned 520i too......

One can only hope. But right now I trust my source who says that the M-Sport will only be here next year. Since he was right about the price and extra specs for the SKD F30. BUT I would be very happy to be proven wrong on this one!

Been holding back on reading, let alone commenting on the F30 but I must say I'm very much interested to know how BMW has progressed the 3er.What I've read so far is a mixed bag.. improvements in some areas and going backwards on some core 3er values.Would love to test the F30(in at least 328 guise) but having read the spec of the current Sport trim on offer I think I'll wait for the Msport trim to come to our shores.I find the current trim config unsatisfactory and unbecoming of the 3er lineage which I've known and love all these years.
What is encouraging though is the fact that the 328i can be tuned to just under 300bhp..promising indeed, though a far cry from what a 335i is capable of.Yet to be seen if the F30 can satisfy a 3er purist like me as my e90 will be difficult to replace I feel.. Can't wait to see how the F30 M3 will turn out.

Wait,I totally forgot..by sheer fate I did test the F30 320d.Bumped into a friend a few weeks back with his shiny new car which replaced his e90 323i LCI.Conclusion? The drive remnded me of a C-class in terms of driving feel, very light and artificial. The spec was an utter letdown as it didn't come with the full on iDrive experience..a totally stupid move by BMW Msia. What were they thinking? Chassis was nice, handles well but the touchpoints were all too light for my liking.
Shows how unmemorable the drive was..it totally escaped me when I first started to write here..
Said friend still prefers his e90,but his wife seemed to love the F30.She now drives it most of the time as opposed to the e90 where the wife seldom wants to drive.I really do hope the Msport F30 will rectify all this.Sad to see a hard edged sportsman turned softie techie.

It's coming in the 3rd quarter. Read it in BMW Malaysia website a couple of days ago, but I cant find it again today which part of the web. I remember there's a pic of a blue Msport shown

Met a BMWM representative in my dealer showroom during lunch, he said M-Sport will be available only next year. So who to believe?

oohh my.... i just placed my booking for the luxury line. the SA told me that msport will only be coming in next year.

if the msport is gonna be available in Q3 and RM10k extra.. i will be super pissed :(

+1

So I have warned my SA that I will return the 328i if the M-Sport version comes out this year!!!
