Can't we do something about BMW Malaysia?

What is there to do? Malaysia does not have any Lemon Laws like in the US. You write to BMW Malaysia also they will give a standard dumb arsed reply. Then they tell you the brand is a JOY to own. Who wants to do anything? No la ... collectively, nothing will ever happen. People just live with it and then say its the Ultimate Driving Machine. Welcome to reality.

Hi there! I have the same problem too. Currently, I am very frustrated with BMW Malaysia for not sincerely trying to solve the problem. It seems like I am not the only one with such problems. I got my ECU replaced after having to wait for about 2 weeks. As for the noise problem from the front suspension, I am still waiting for the parts to arrive. They claim to make the delivery as quick as possible and yet, it still requires about 1 month's time. Can't we do something about BMW Malaysia? Also, I got to know that the noise is also caused by a problematic steering rack. You better have it checked by your service centre.

Hi Tinkerer, they can't solve the suspension problem during the two weeks' wait while getting my ECU replaced but sad thing to know that they also can't solve the suspension issue. They even claimed same issue occured when tested on those new cars (f30) from their current stock! they even concluded this is an unsolved mystery.

Can I ask which service centre promised you to change the faulty parts and how did they identified the problem? I need to highlight to them again.

Thanks...

Hi NCc, I bought my car from Auto Bavaria, Sg. Besi. Thus, I sent mine there. Do not expect too much. Their after-sales service is not up to expectation. I wonder what happen to BMW Malaysia, for allowing such bad service dealers. Till now, I am STILL awaiting the parts from Germany. Someone please tell me Germany is a place in the planet Mars, and I'll be convinced.

Tink ... to be fair I guess there are processes to be adhered to from Malaysia side to get the replacement parts. Then in Germany or wherever else it comes from also need their own process to get it out. Shipping will not be by DHL for sure, costs way too much. Prob just by sea, then you need to wait for the next shipment of stuff to Malaysia before they send it over.

You think BMW Malaysia cares? No la ... got money dun care one. They do not mind the so called small percentage of problems. Its acceptable. Always is unless it happens to them. :)

There is a consumer rights law? Any legal eagles here? Is it possible to do a class action against them?

Totally agree that such organizations are becoming too arrogant for their own good and will never take the consumer rights into consideration

No class action but you can take them to court. Legally, if it's under financing, you can sue the finance company. Can we afford the time and money? That is the key question. The Consumer Claims Tribunal said they would love to see the US Lemon Law applied in Malaysia but the tribunal has no jurisdiction to do so. Only the High Court may do so as its not been legislated in Malaysia. If you want the equivalent, you go to the High Court and ask for the whole transaction to be cancelled, to put it in layman terms.
