From my past experience, modding is never a easy road. Be prepared for downtime and frequent visits to the workshop. Be prepared for other problems to crop up after you touched the delicate balance of the stock setup.

Agreed. Safe for a few professionals, many are too "Gung ho" and try to outsmart the German engineers. end up jeorpadise the safety feature and balance of the car.

If the intention is to mod, for the same damage, more bang for buck to spend it on a preloved E9X 335i.

F30 has too many issues that u wldn't want to void the warranty.

What if they add a hybrid version to this engine won't the reduction in tax will bring the price down further and fc to improved significantly?

So far BMW Hybrid model has never used any engine with 2000 c.c. and below, so not able to enjoy the tax incentives. Anyway, the hybrid tax incentives ends after 31 Dec 2013. So far no one know what will happen after that. The revised NAP that suppose to be released long time ago suppose to address this ...

What is the current BMW credit interest rate for 320?

Bro, you should ask BMW Credit and not BMWCM. We cannot and will not be liable for any wrong info.

Man. After reading all 9 pages, seems like many people feel that 316i is a waste. But nice to see that there are pro's and con's in this section. Meaning the people commenting. Personally I would thank BMW for 316i. Reason? Cause at least a 20 year old kid like me living an ordinary life can think of buying this kind of car. Well I was thinking of e46 but after some ketuk ketuk into my head then I thought of F30 320i or 320d. Spent some time reading the difference on the fuel difference and found out that 320d is the best from people's comment. But now confusion is 316i would be better or not. So planning to head to one of the dealers and test drive all three and then see the best. But one thing is for sure, people like me don't need to worry so much on the road tax and insurance for 316i, right right???

Just my 0.01 cent thought ;) haha

Siva.. look fwd to read your review of the test drives.

While u r at the dealer, ask about the pre-reg promos and premium selection.

Test Drive the 316i, it's quite impressive with the twin turbo engine, initially the difference it not much between 316i and 320, whereby i like the luxury seats inside and sport rims look with the 316i

Using as a weekday city car, it should be a good choice.

It's single turbo only. Don't be mislead by the twin power turbo word. What do you mean by initially the difference is not much? You mean the power?

Couldn;t get a chance to go for test drive. met in a small accident while looking for the showroom. haih. maybe monday I guess I will go then let you know what I personally feel. :motz::motz::motz::motz:

I'd just tested the 316. Decent power I would say. Sufficient for normal use. Dont really feel much difference between the 320 & 316. I have tested the 320 as well.

The main difference is the trimming and rim.

Tried sitting at the back seat as well. It's true ....not comfy. Feel a bit dizzy...wonder why

This would be a winner with the ladies. Mind u ladies earnings nowadays are on par and some even higher than the guys... They can afford to buy their own car and they don't need high powered engines. This one is more than sufficient for them to go around meeting clients and do grocery shopping.

Hybrid is a waste of time. Why use fossil fuel to convert to electricity and then store the electricity before using the electricity to power the car? Why don't just use fossil fuel to power the car directly. The fuel savings from hybrid car is too insignificant to justify for the additional cost of hybrid car. The latest generation of direct injection turbo diesel engine saves more fuel than a hybrid unit and provides much more driving pleasure than a hybrid.

BMW does not follow trends.. They are the trendsetters.... Don't think they would be jumping onto the hybrid bandwagon now, if they had wanted to, they would have done it long ago.. Remember the hydrogen fuel cell 7 series? a few units were being tested in Spore including hydrogen refuelling facilities... Well, it didn't really take off but they thought out of the box with that idea. Anyway, BMW's green direction is to go full electric with the i-series. Hybrid is so yesterday... :p

IN Malaysia..

Hybrid cars may make more sense.

The 335i Active Hybrid is more powerful and cheaper than the normal 335i.

Hence the argument you have here for BMW would be invalid :)

Furthermore, your comparison of Diesel, is more fun than the hybrid is based on what car ?

The A6 Hybrid would be able to outrun the diesel to 200 and maintain a higher cruising speed :)

All that with significant lower road noise and better interior.

320d M Sport is about 275 k now ? The A6 is only going for 288 :)
