BMW sucks..:smokin:

i wonder if the rusted seat brackets will be solved and so is the wind sound plus others...

316 was conceived to recycle the returned rusted seat brackets. That's why can sell chip2

This 316i variant brings back the days where slow bimmers are the mainstay, like the e90 320i and the e46 318i..not so ultimate driving machine at all. Suddenly owning an f30 doesnt feel so cool anymore...:(

By the way..that A250 is looking pretty mean (except for its front wheel drive layout)

They r doing market segmentation.. in this case offering the cheapest & slowest model in our market.. some might even call it a lady's car.

Bravo.. your hot hatch is abit faster than the slowest/lady's BMW.. :4:..

Cabutzz.. :burnout:

Yeah.. I will be overtaking it with my you-spent-200k-on-that? look.. ;)

BMW has market-segmented with the 316i since the E30. I would've imagined them producing more exciting entry-level engines today if they still wanted to play that game.

cant blame BMW , it's current trend for producing a small turbo-charge engine .. but i dont think it will affect 320 as there's quite a big gap of power n torque .

but WHY 316i have Bi-Xenon & LED day time running light as well as the idrive??????????!!!!! last year when c180 launched at RM202k, it also don't have the Bi-Xenon headlamps ma zzzz some car consumers is compare the car accessories but not the performance first! o.o correct me if i'm wrong :D

I feel you bro....the fact that it makes me compare with the 316 against 320, making me furious...Hope the UDM tagline will stay for the upper level...if they call 316 UDM, i rather sell my 320...gila..

just for comparison of 1.6 Turbo engine:
BMW 316i - 135bhp / 220Nm
Peugeot 408 - 163bhp / 240Nm
Proton Preve - 138bhp / 205Nm (lighter chasis i guess)

i guess the preve owners would be having the time of their life going head to head with the 316i......

This would be a better buy than a 316 for many obvious reasons.

I guess what BMW is trying to do is to break the typical driver's perception that if you pay a high price, you must get a high powered engine with crazy performance. This is targeting executive class people who don't care enough about performance to want something high powered but still wants the driver involvement of a BMW. So it will work for this targeted segment.

For the naughty owners, 1.6 litre with turbo charge can only mean two things: lighter engine and a lot of room for potential tuning. Imagine I can buy a 2nd hand one cheaper than the 320s and chuck a japanese engine in to it or better yet the older generation BMW straight six. Ok technically how its gonna work i won't know but seems like happy days.

PS: I don't mind changing my E90 320 for this because I am hardcore BMW but not rich enough to afford a new 320 (relatively).

BMW is all about driving dynamics.... without engine power, there would be only dynamics without the driving....
might as well get another brand.... :D
