Since the f10 manual recommended using RON 95,i guess why not i use Primax 95 extra. My former ride of E90 always used RON 95,no problemo.Am i doing the smart thing or will i bring any harm to my beloved f10?.Anyone here use RON 95 for the f10..

I don't think there's no reason not to go for ron 95.. it is clearly stated that the car can consume 95. and you may be surprised that the f10 (535i) is designed to consume fuel as low as ron89.

A clear cut case to why you should not believe on the ron rating myth. As the truth is backed by BMW.

Modern engines have knock sensors and other electronics sensor to monitor the engine ... The DME will compensate accordingly with the RON you're putting in.

Thanks guys,i will stick to Primax 95,If you don't believe the manual then the oil companies will thank u.every second there is a sucker born.anyway i do not notice any noticiable different when i use 95 as compared to 97

Is the "89" referring to American AKI octane rating or M'sia RON? AKI number comes in smaller according to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Octane_rating.

Hahahahaha... Those attendants are probably thinking why this leng zai looks dumb in pumping diesel into his white ride. :24:

i tested the Petronas 95 extra on my '518' and it's the best ron 95 so far...been using it since the introduction...exhaust tip is clean and power feel like its on 97...i do not see any problem if use on f10 cause like most have mentioned modern cars has knock sensor that adjust the ignition timing if a knock occurs from using lower RON fuels...

Have been using 95 xtra for the past two fillups. So far so good. Might be a Petronas convert from now on.

Iylia, where's the nearest Petronas station in Subang? Can't recall seeing any at SS14 nor 17.

there are plenty in usj area... but as in your case, the one closest to ss15 is ss17... next to the Balai Bomba Subang Jaya.

Oh yea. The police station there. Hahaha. Was searching for a Petronas station in Subang on Sunday morning but no luck, so ended up refilling it in Damansara Jaya after brunch. Wahaha. The exact same station where I first pumped the 95 xtra... Dunno whether mileage is better, covered about 210miles before refilling yesterday. 337kms only? :p

Any update in regards to the Primax 95 after several tanks ladss ?

Whats the average fuel consumption (Ltr/100km) have you been getting guys? Any much difference with Ron 97?
