First in Malaysia to Launch Euro 4M RON 97 Fuel PETRONAS PRIMAX 97 with Improved Advanced Energy Formula

PETRONAS Dagangan Berhad (PDB) launched its new PETRONAS PRIMAX 97 with improved Advanced Energy Formula that is engineered for superior acceleration on 19 August 2015. The new fuel is also the first RON 97 fuel to meet the Euro 4M specification, ahead of the gazetted 1st September 2015 implementation date.
The event was launched by the YB Dato’ Hamzah bin Zainudin, Domestic Trade, Co-operatives and Consumerism Minister, at the Technology Park Malaysia PETRONAS Station and witnessed by Md Arif Mahmood, Executive Vice President and Chief Executive Officer, Downstream Business, PETRONAS.
The Euro 4M fuel comes with lower benzene, sulphur content and Reid Vapour Pressure (RVP) levels, making it a greener fuel as it produces less emissions and pollutants as compared to the previous Euro 2M RON 97 fuel. With the Euro 4M specification, the lower sulphur content will also further protect emission systems.
“Today, we are not only introducing a fuel that meets the gazetted requirement. We are also delivering to our customers an enhanced PETRONAS PRIMAX 97 with improved Advanced Energy Formula. With the improved Advanced Energy Formula, motorists will experience superior acceleration and ultimately an enhanced driving experience,” said Ibrahimnuddin Yunus, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, PDB.
The new PETRONAS PRIMAX 97 with improved Advanced Energy Formula delivers superior acceleration with the following three key attributes:
1. Improves drivability with world’s first use of new chemistry: The new improved chemistry ensures better friction reduction at the cylinder wall and enhances the engine oil’s function resulting in smoother acceleration.
2. Protects the engine with nation’s first lower sulphur gasoline: The new formulation further removes and prevents deposits, thus providing protection to the engine’s fuel injector for the long term.
3. Provides better combustion with technology of the winning formula: The fine quality base fuel produced by world class PETRONAS refineries is an optimised formulation developed through the MERCEDES AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team partnership. With better combustion, motorists can experience longer, smoother drives with every tank of the new PETRONAS PRIMAX 97 with improved Advanced Energy Formula.
PETRONAS’ superior fuel technology has propelled the MERCEDES AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team to win the 2014 Formula One Constructors Championship and currently leading the World Championship.

With the new PETRONAS PRIMAX 97 with improved Advanced Energy Formula, this technology has been transferred from the Formula One tracks to the everyday road for motorists to experience superior acceleration.
