Well, after much consideration, we decided to get a baby Rangie over the new X3 and XC60. Forget about the Q5, it looks old and it is no where as near in terms of awesomeness as a BMW...Anyway, what should I control myself from doing in the Evoque? The F10 528M is probably the best sedan out there (though for me the best sedan in the world is the M550d, but that is a different story!) and I love the way when you floor it, you can feel it pushing you into the seat and all... Ahhh....I know the baby Rangie is an SUV, so no flooring and all in that too. But should I expect it to be dead quiet like the F10? Anyone with an Evoque and a beemer here who has been through this? And if you were wondering why no X3, well I felt the 20i engine was not as punchy after kena poison by the 28i :p And the interior features and finish is not as nice as the F10. I know its an Suv and all, but still, for the price, the steering wheel was so thin, normal Black Panel speedo, not the whole length one in the 528 , etc... Xc60 looked good on paper. But the handling is sloppy.Oh yea, any one has any tips for the Rangie? I am just worried I will expect too much after the F10...

You'd be sorely disappointed with the Evoque. Appearance internal and external are nice but unfortunately touch and feel of the interior is far inferior to the F10. Minimal tactile feel and quite a fair but of hard plastic. Drive is ok but nothing superb. Have 2 friends that bought for their wives, sold it within 1.5 years. Better off buying the Q5 that no doubt looks slightly dated but at the very least has quality and longevity built into it.

My wife was considering this for a while, took one look at the interior and test drive, decided to buy the Golf R instead. Best thing was when we were at the FedHi showroom, the seat jammed up and the tech had to come and unplug battery to re-enable it.

Different story altogether if you're comparing between range rover sports and x5. I drive the former and used to own the latter. RRS win hands down.

Somehow I found the materials to be pretty OK. The back seats felt softer than the ones in the F10 (CKD) ones. I didn't like the Q5 one bit inside. Felt not as good as a Beemer interior. And MMI was not as nice either. Not to mention that in terms of 4WD systems, TerrainResponse > xDrive > Quattro too...

As for the seat jamming up? Idk, few friends have had it, never had any issues. Buying car is like luck also I guess...

Range Rover Sport. Yums. X5 is OK but for that money, I'd go for the RRS too.

hi bro, if u wan an SUV that can pull u bak to the seat when u floor it. I suggest u go for X6 50i. my fren has one and i test drove it the other day. very powerful. M5 engine. magnificient exhaust note. loud grunt when u floor the throttle.

You can drive a SUV hard. I'm not sure how the RR drives but in a Q5 with ADS (Audi Drive Select) and Damping Control it corners pretty much like a german sedan would.

I think interior wise the Audi definitely has the nicest fit & finish, RR interiors are quite plasticky (except for the Vogue). I wish BMW interiors are as well put together.

I actually like the X6. And I know xDrive is pretty good. But the price was too far off. :(

I found the Q5 to be decent. Evoque is also pretty good in the handling like Q5. Only thing which I found the Q5 not as good was the MMI (iDrive is WAY better) and the front looks so-so... Evoque touchscreen is OK la. Not iDrive level though.

I have been in the DSG Q5, which i didn't like, cause of the low speed grinding. High speed DSG is good!

For me, I didn't like the seats in the Q5. Just like BMW, they are on the hard side... I dunno why...
