hi.

if you need tow truck, you can call 019-2219105. he transported my car yesterday from jln yapkwan seng to kayu ara for rm150. the good thing is they are using a large lorry to transport your car (whole car go up) not towing. so no damage to skirtig or gearbox etc...

cheers

I was saved from Engine overheat disaster by sheer luck last week. Must have done some good deeds in the last few years

Saturday morning I started the car after 15 minutes drive I reached the Projet station to fill my Tires. Stopped the engine got out finished with one front tire, the suddenly noticed water was flowing out at speed like a tap open.

Opened the hood, noticed the radiator water was going out from the overflow tube :beaten:

Panicked I called my mechanic, I told him I did nothing to the car except I checked the radiator water level and shut closed the cap as the water level was perfect.

He asked me, did you shut close tight the cap. Well I am not sure about this, so I filled the water and closed the cap this time, very tight.

After that the car been running no problem.

Moral of the story,

Always, closed the radiator cap very tight, or else due to some vacuum action, the water can flow out simply like that

Jarance, sorry to hear that too....

I have also suffered an overheating problem recently. The thermostat was faulty and the temp was at 3/4 mark most of the time. Got it checked by my mech. Changed the thermostat. But that is not the end of my problem. The high temperature had burnt the gasket and warped my head a bit. Got the head skimmed and done a top end overhaul at the same time. Plus all the replacement parts i.e. thermostat, seals, gaskets, skimming, valve grinding, head polishing, etc, etc, the price is around RM2k.

Maybe I should have gone the whole hog and upgrade my engine to 2.5L.... :D

Damn, hope there is no more huge costs coming. :( :beaten:

Sorry to hear abt ur misfortune but even if u have to fork out as much as 2K for a top job, I think it's still a good investment for the long run. :D
Imho, perhaps it's not so much as what happens to ur UDM that matters but how u act/react to ur situation that's important...aaah just my 2 cents!

thank for the number. I have contact them and the person want to
charge RM200 to tow the car from Klang to Segambut.

I have got another one that can do it for RM180... :nyehehe:

Thank all for your reply and advise. It have been quite helpful
in deciding what the next course of action to be taken.

:eek:k:

gosh. me too had that problem. Overheated and my headgasket blew. Water mix and became kopi susu. Sigh.

Jarance, since yours is 316, upgrade to 318i at least. Not so bad. E36 engine transplant has more choices. If can find, look for the m43 which provides better torque.smoother and quieter engine.

Else, there is the m42 or m44 option available for you. ;)

MR Jaran singh .. as usual white bai must be filling up his radiator with a hang over till forget to put on the CAP ...ayoooo JK :D

Sorry to hear bout this, but all the above advise is very usefull and hope you can make a better decision on solving this problem soon.

i personnaly think Elwine E30 has got a great point ... upgrade to a M43.

Hope you get back ya baby soon .... B)
