Hi, I understand the 325 Sports comes with Climate Comfort Windscreen. Does that mean stuff like V-Kool is not necessary? Views?

BTW, I was told my favourite colour Monaco Blue is no longer available for 325 Sports until next year, and advised by the SA to take Sapphire Black. How ah? am in a dilemma!

One more Q for the forummers, anyone has changed the RFTs at inception, if yes, where to buy a suitable mobility kit in KL? or should I pay Singapore a visit?

I just went non-RFTs...

Get either the Continental Comfort kit or the OEM Mobility kit, I'm ordering one as we speak at USD89.60 pick up at local dealer.

If you are some where near the equator, to me even climate comfort is not enuf. I think most of us still tinted the front. I think the rest of the glass house has no Climate Comfort anyway.

bro KLDC, is that pic in your signature your ride with the new 19"? Nice :)

With such a weather in our country, I feel tinted is a must :)

how can we tell the windscreen is climate comfort ?
oh..by the way, how much should it be insured for...in case any god-damn stone has an affinity to it ? rm4000 ?

The ADT is worth every cents you pay eventhough I did mine with compliments from AB for pruchasing my 523i recently.
I must admit the 325i is a superb car with perfect balance between sportiness and comfort. I love it's razor sharp steering as it gives you the confidence to drive really fast into corners.
After the training, you will walk away with a whole new perspective about driving defensively. My favourate part was the oversteer exercise. I was grinning from ear to ear after that.....simply awesome!

I thought you would have a second thought of changing your 523i to 325i after the training ???

One way is to look at the top of the windscreen where the rear view mirror is. You will see a small window like area supposedly for you to put any auto tag that uses INfrared or RF door opener. This area has no/lesser "tint".

Did I confuse you futher?

Climate Comfort windscreen is purplish in color on the front windscreen. For local specs, the 320i SE, and 325i's have them as well as the 330i and 335i.

I don't insure my front windscreen. If you look at the premium you are paying something like every 3-4 years is enough to buy you a new windscreen last I checked. In the past 19 years, I've never had to replace mine... Also these days for small chips and cracks, it can be fixed professionally with hardly any tell tale effect for a couple of hundred bucks. Also saves your original windscreen seals and lining from being replaced which may not be up to spec from factory once removed and replaced.

hey thanks danc...yup, i noticed that bit on the top portion of the windscreen.

Where would you recommend a good windscreen repair shop for stone chip? I'm very annoy with 2 stone chip happen in 3 months. Never follow a truck or SUV closely behind especially those without mud flap.

well i think it will be actually worthwhile getting the sport edition.... the M bodykit itself already cost 10500rm without spray and fitted.... plus if you opt for M Tecnic Suspension it will be another 6 grand... M Sport Steering wheel around 3500.... sport seat is the worst..... i think around 10k each.... not to mention 18 rims

WOW really nice rims. :top:

Try out Dr Cermin workshop in Pandan Perdana Cheras. They specialize in this. PM me if you need their number.

The price for a new windscreen complete with sensor and workmanship cost RM 3,900+ from AB. The cheapest you can get from outside is RM 3,300 unless you go for those China made which cost only few hundred bucks. Recommended to get the original and have it fix at AB if you are worry about the workmanship.

To insure windscreen at RM 4,000, you need to pay a premium of RM 600 per annum. So... do a calculation yourself :)

Apart from the hassle of changing the whole windscreen, you also need to replace the tinted glass on the windscreen and that may cost you another RM 600 to RM 800. So... sometimes it's better to repair it than replacing it if it is a little bit of chip or cracked.

I recently went with my collegue to repair this nasty chip he had on his front windscreen of his C230 V6 Sports. It was a "half moon" chip right in front of the drivers eye view, and very distracting.

The stock Merc C class 230 V6 Sports windscreen has a blueish tint, and rain sensor, and these guys fixed it till it was totally not noticable. I was quite amazed at how a badly chipped windscreen can be restored like that.

Do it quick before dirt traps into the crack or till the crack extends. While we were there a 2 month old Porsche Cayenne (facelift) came in as well to get the glass fixed. The owner, like my friend is too terrified to get a new windscreen (seals replaced etc) on his new car although he had the windscreen insured. So he opted for the fix instead.

Here is the link and map to the place in Sect 17.

He paid under RM200 if I remember right, and it was all kautim in 30 mins.
