tkm,

Two versions of engines for E60 i.e. M54 and N52. Water pump for M54 is cheap as it is a mechanical pump as compared to N52 which is an electrical driven pump. N52's water pump is RM1.4 k plus and RM2k including thermostat seems right.

Thanks bro herbert,

Mine is year 2004 i guess is M54 engine before N52 which is magnesium engine right? Apologised for my knowledge on the engine versions. As i know my car the engine is in black colour cover and not the silver colour cover version. We can change the water pump from mechanical to electric driven? I guess mechanical version is better right?

tkm,

Your E60 520i year 2004 is with a M54 engine. Mine is also M54 engine and in March this year, I replaced water pump (original) for RM 500 & thermostat for RM200. Prices inclusive of workmanship.

Not possible to change mechanical water pump to an electric one.

Oh okay, thanks for the feedback bro herbert. Appreciate it very much;)

i have tried nexen before, car become shaky after 10k mileage.. alignment & balancing no issue. recently changed to michellin PS3 RM850/pc - the feeling is aaaaawwwwweeesssooommmeeeee - handling, grip, performance and more important thing no more shaky issue.. i think it is worth to top up rm300 to get the full satisfaction. just sharing my experience here
Planning to changed my rear tire soon, 275/35R18 , what size of tire for michelin PS3 @ RM850/pc you've changed recently as it was quoted around RM1100/pcs to me.
Any alternative/suggestion on other brand of tires as good as michelin PS3?
Thanks

moots,

i also need to change my rear rubber trin/lining. How to DIY?

cheers,

tailgate

bro tailgate,

start here.but remove the lower center trim first.then pull the trim out from the glass slowly and work your way to the other end.do not pry it out using screwdrivers or any hard metallic tool or you may crack the glass.

To replace, use soapy water.I use water only to coax and offer the new trim to the glass.I started from the top corners.
After all in,push the trim further in to ensure they are snug.Refit the lower center trim.
Good luck.

Hi Moots,

Thanks for the tip. I went to BA in Subang SS18 and got myself the top trim and the bottom trim .
Figured I'd change the whole set. Cost me RM 125 for the top trim and RM90 for the bottom trim.
Looking at the rear windscreen again, in some areas, the rubber has hardened and fallen off.

I noticed a long screwdriver,a scraper and a short screwdriver as the tools that you used. I could not make out the cylindrical object.

PS. It is good to know that you do not need to remove the rear wind screen to fit the rubber trim. :)

Sincerely,

tailgate

Hi Jason, tq for your advice. May I have the contact no/shop that you've bought your tire? Just to reconfirmed, PS3 you recently bought is 275/35R18 or 245/40R18?
Thanks in advance
