Replaced my ATF oil last week. Mileage was 110K..

Cost:
ZF Fluid 6 : RM52 x 7 bottles
Oil sump : RM320
Mechatronic seal: RM65
Labour: RM120

Parts bought from Bavarian Auto. No flushing done.

Masticore,

Does e60 needs 7 bottles of ATF fluid? is it standard?
Do the Oil Sump & Mechatronic seal compulsorily changed?
Anyone pls comment. Just need more info abt this.
Heard that flushing GB may cause some problems, anyone did it ?
cheers

Hello everybody, seniors, sifu's guru's :)

Few days back, went for full vehicle check at Seong Hoe Melaka , coz it about to reach 100k mileage. Changed few parts :-

1. Changing radiator for the 2nd time : RM 2347.80, after discount RM 1643.46 (2 years warranty)

2. The service advisor recommended to change the Heat Exchanger coz the car its about to reach 100k mileage. RM 1127.10 (2 years warranty)

3. Castrol Engine Oil RM 500++

4. Coolant RM 51.00

According to the senior foreman there, he said one of the most famous e60 problem will be the radiator leaking. There is a record whereby there is a customer changed the radiator for 7times.lol So to all forumers, juz keep an eye one ur water level, juz in case :)

Thanks for sharing and the advice on the radiator. Actually, you could save at least 30-40% if you have done the above from a BMW Specialist.

Wondering which BMW specialist you are talking about.

bro,
As long as it's non-dealer workshop. Click here for the list

For example, you could replaced your Heat Exchanger for RM 370 (OEM), get an original BMW coolant for RM 32 and Castrol fully-syn engine oil for RM 350 (4 litres x 2).

about 6 to 7 bottles required.. if u do flush your gearbox u'll need 10 bottles at least as there is still some oil left in the torque converter.. not sure about problems associated with flushing though..
Oil sump need to be replaced as the seal comes together with the oil sump.. and the oil sump is of plastic material..
Mechatronic seal tends to leak as it ages... its a common issue with E60 and BMW do issue a specific service bulletin on this particular leaking problem..
