What's "semput" sound? A more detailed elaboration perhaps? :p What type of engine? N52 or N53?

@ADAMmf, if the mechanic advised you to replace the camshaft sensor after plug in the scanner, then he might be partially true, there are also other areas that he needs to be looking at i.e. sensor harness, circuit contact etc, normally when u diagnose with a scanner, it will pop out all the trouble codes recorded in the ECU including the one that is not related with the fault, what you should do, have it scanned then whenever possible record the codes, erase or clear the codes, test drive it then have it diagnosed again, that gives u the current fault which normally directs u to the fault...but be extra careful as they are primary and secondary fault; primary fault - direct cause, secondary cause - indirect cause which normally will dissapear by itself as primary fault resolved..people always get confused as they tend to solve secondary rather then primary fault...good luck bro

my "semput issue" solved...

symptom: 1. engine "semput" or "sebu"
2. engine sound weird at lower gear (berdengung) I don't know how to put this in words...
3. car feels heavy..
4. bad fuel consumption (full tank only 500km - 70% highway / 30% stop/go traffic)

- diagnosis found no fault code

- my findings - after the visual check on the engine bay, I found that the air filter box did not close/tighten properly , this happen after my last service (2 weeks ago)

now all back to normal, all symptoms above solved

anyway.. thanks to all the advise...

cheers...

Aircond compressor what brand? Ori? Most of the prices are reasonable. Labor cheap for all. Did they dismantle the dashboard to replace cooling coil?

what's wrong with your a/c mate? You seemed to change the whole system completely! Whoaa..
I would suggest next time trouble shoot the cause of the pblem bfore changing the whole system. AC systems look expensive for E60.

Aircond system is expensive for all cars especially BMW & for newer model. If the system is clogged you have to change everything. I've done mine twice due to problematic mech

Maintenance Services

1) 5W 40 Engine Oil 7.5L = RM 350.00
2) Oil Filter = RM 40.00
3) Fan Belt = RM 50.00
4) Labour = RM 50.00

Total = RM 490.00

They did troubleshoot and replaced the items part by part starting with cooling coil, compressor and finally the condenser (if I remembered correctly). The air-cond is now cool by BMW standards. Yes they did strip the dashboard almost completely and took a few days to complete the job. Only thing I was unhappy about was the way my interior was handled, without the TLC it deserved.

Maintenance Services

1) 5W 40 Engine Oil 8.0L Castrol edge fully synthetic with titanium = RM 380.00
2) Oil Filter = RM 40.00
3) Front Textar brake padd OE = RM 230.00
4) Brake Pad sensor = RM 40.00
4) Labour = RM 60.00
6) Coolant = RM 40.00

Total = RM 790.00
