Could it be your idle control valve that needs cleaning maybe?

Also Bavarian Auto is selling Bosch alternator for RM850 new

RM850 is for 2 pins. 3 pins is RM1400.

Yeap it died the moment i turned on the air conditioning. If that's the case then likely it's the ICV then. Thanks fot the detailed explanation bro. Shall clean it this weekend & see how it goes.

What will you be using to clean it? Don't use WD40. It does not require lubrication either so don't spray anything else in there. Dirt will just stick to it more easily.

Need to check VIN or unplug the alternater socket then only know. My friend also using M54B25 local spec is 3 pins.

I remember my mechanic just use clean petrol and his finger to close the inlet and outlet holes of the ICV and repeatedly shaking and trained out the dirt.

Use throttle body cleaner to clean the inside.

Don't think it the ICV. ICV problem does not stall the engine.
Don't think it the alternator. Voltage is ok.

Check the air filters first.
Check for vacuum leak.

Car seems to be running fine and cranked up well in 1 go. Engine never stalled again since that first incident. However, lately whenever the car is revved softly with interior lights on, the lights would dim slightly and back to the normal brightness. The dim is accompanied by a slight dip in RPM, even when the accelerator is pressed. Is this a sign of failing alternator/unstable current?

Have checked with BA and my alternator costs RM745. Suan Huat at Tmn Paramount quoted RM850.

Was told by Albert of WP Auto that our E46 uses 2 brands of alternator: Valeo and Bosch.

Changed mine almost 2 yrs back and use my original alternator till now. Only some SKL tell cannot change..

Bro do you know Senawang Light Industrial ? From the main road to Tampin, turn left at the Senawang Light Ind traffic light (after Petronas).
Once you turn in from traffic light then turn right and straight up about 100-150M on your left find Senawang Motor (Right side no shop)
