E46 Air Mass Sensor Fault in Temerloh..wrong place at the wrong time..

Dear Sifus/Folks,I had air mass sensor fault today which caused to car to jerk and eventually breakdown in the middle of the road..Finally had to call my insurance towing service to tow my car to my wife's houseThe problem is im away from klang valley..currently in Temerloh..Anyone has any idea how much does this sensor cost in Klang Valley..??i feel its quite pricy over here in Temerloh..Help help help...!!!!!

How do you know it's your MAF and not something else? Your car model?

Have you tried to clean your MAF by using electric contact cleaner and give it a good spray on the wire inside the MAF housing. Once done re-install back the MAF and start the engine. See if that solves the problem.

1 of the shops around here had the scanner..that reflected "Air Mass Sensor fault"..
In fact i did used contact cleaner, but it didnt help..
finally i decided to open up the sensor on my own..n i found the inside part of the air mass sensor(looks similar like the 1 inside a normal light bulp) had a crack on it..

Ahhh that would be the heating plate then that gone bust.

Anyway the link below contains the part number for you MAF try calling Bavarian Auto or Stuttgart and see how much they're going for. I'm sure they can sort out the delivery part.
