e46 318i 1.9 lot of prob...pls help

Bro,

Those are old issues (shadow error codes) Nothing to worry, the M43 engine is one of the cheapest and most reliable BMW engine and repairs are simple and cheap.

IMHO, I suggest you to use original air filter, check if the spark plug is original too / or any damage on the plug cable.

Last but not the least is to do a compression test worn pistons ring can be the reasons too.

ya bro mmg this car feel lar heavy semacam bro,,,if u driving normal,,the car is ok,,but if a bit fast around 130>,,then check engine come,,show check fuel system....

If the alarm is consistent, it will return again.

The chances of all 4 HT cables failed at the same time is almost ZERO.

change fuel filter first and check the fuel pressure in the fuel rail.

almost a similar case with mine. but for me no need o wait until 140kmh... the error code (checkk fuel system) will come out n i live wih it for almost 1 year hehe, I did the same thing as u, change fuel filter, fuel regulator even fuel pump and etc hehehe....... lastly the problem solved by clean the MAF sensor with contact cleaner..... trouble free till now.. cheers..

Cleaning a MAF sensor seem to be a small thing but it can cause a big issue if it not being taken care of, suspected symptom when MAF sensor dirty - lost power, engine warning light comes out, hunting rpm but these a just some guides before you go for big buck repair. It advisable to clean the MAF sensor once every 6 months, for those who never done that..trust me you'll feel the different after that.

Get second opinion from different workshop bro. List down in this forum what you have spent so far if you can. If those change are wer and tear items thats fine but 30k if big sum of money. You can get another BMW with bit more to top up, not just an engine. By the way what E46 you are driving?
