Great DIY ! Congrats!

On the OEM jack or whatever jack please don't do it everyone.
I have a colleague who passed away 2 weeks ago coz the jack gave way.
He was underneath the engine bay doin mods or something when it happened.

Use stands if u ever need to go under the carriage!

congrats bro. have the radiator being replaced? if the water loss issues still appear after you change new radiator, it's time to look at the gaskets / water pump

welldone bro...tk semua org berani diy woo...hehehehe....tkpa pelan2 bro..the hose tk mahal sgt...

thanks for the moral support...target to change the hose DIY style end of this month..kinda easy to DIY but need fulus first ma...anyone know how much is the inlet hose for e46 318i??

inlet hose? d u mean the top hose at the radiator? its cheap bro. make sure u clamp the hose tight as the bocor could even caused by a lose clamp

I did the radiator DIY too in my 318i '02 N42B20 engine (steptronic auto). Similar process and no more leaks. I did change all 3 hoses and the expansion tank cap too as precaution so have older but good hoses in the shed for back up. Check that all the hoses and clamps have clicked in properly. Is there still coolant dripping out ? Is it visible ?

These hoses are made to click in. They have O-rings inside to make a seal. So make sure these O-rings are not damaged and then make sure they click fully into place. Hope this helps. Of not just replace the hoses and you will be good to go. Is it cheap to get OEM parts ? Do you source parts locally and are they OEM ? PM me and let me know if you want me to find out how much they cost for me. I'd have to dig out the invoices. I DIY'ed so no labour cost. :top:

based from my experience, u may need to change the head gasket. my M43 costs about rm700++. the water would stop after the engine heat up. better change before the head gasket blow and water pouring in your cylinder. a top overhaul as well as credit card companies may calling you

o..so no need to top overhaul all the way?if just around RM700 still acceptable... furthermore..noticed the leek still occur at the radiator hose, same place..haiyo..what to do la..can i seal it with some kind of sealant? so now i have 2 place of leakage..1 on the hose and the others at the gasket...pening la ini macam...pengsan woo nak setel masalah air nih..haishh..

lelaki fedup..

the head gasket located above the water pump. the top gasket located above the water hole. you need to change the top gasket as well if u change the head gasket.

the culprit of leaking- worn out gasket

the top gasket should be place along the tip of the block.

bro try ask a more experience workshop. it would help more compared to my limited experience :)

I dont think you should be using any sealant on the hoses. Try removing it and see if the o-rings are damaged or pushed out of place. Best you replace it with a new one if the above fails.

So this is a new hose that is still leaking ? Im pretty sure it shouldn't. Take it off and see if the rubber orings have dislodged. Im pretty sure it hasnt seated properly. Use a tiny amount of silicone lube and then click it in place so it doesnt drag out the orings when you push it back in.
