that's bcoz yr bone suda reput:D cabutzzzzzzzzzzz

Lowering and stiffening the ride will undoubtedly add high speed stability, but even with the standard setup your car shouldn't feel "unstable" in the first place.

Instability and lack of "confidence" may be signs of poor alignment, bad tyres or worn bushings that can affect the straightline stability a whole lot.

I'd get those checked first... if you don't rectify those first then lowering/stiffening is not going to help either mate.

Bro

it looks like that but your car should be slightly lower in the front.

Sifus,

sorry for hijacking this tread but I want to know is any of you guys have lost the back of the E39 during high speed corners? I tought that with the DSC on it should knock off speed before the car loses the back? I nearly bought it yesterday at the Kota Damansara toll exit to Damansara.

Thanks

Hi Leon,
I personally have not experienced the harrowing situation you explained. How fast were you going and how sharp was the bend? Are your tires ok? But then again, I am known to be a "pondan" driver here at JB so maybe that's why it's an alien case to me. By right, the situation should not happen right? Like you said, the DSC should have kicked in...

dude

thanks for the offer but I do trust that you can definately confirm if it is working or not.

roland

doing about 110kn in a 360 loop corner. New eagle F1 tyres. (trying to make a fool of myself chasing a 350Z in the corner)

Maybe my DSC is not functioning.......

bro,

I have personal experience of my e39 at 90kmph, tail come-out and end-up on the divider, at - camber corner, but stuck on the road at 170kmph on a normal corner. Both cases ACD/DSC light doesn't come-out.

wanna to test the DSC ..... go and find road with send or wet cement surface ( like yr hse car porch,) then step hard on yr pedal, the triangle light on the console cluster should be blinking. this mean it is working.

antoher thing I notice that e39 is very hard to get the tail come-out even without DCS ..... unless you steer wrongly like what happen to me at 90kmph.

mates,
it's been a while, but this topic's interesting, so pardon me 4crashin in on this tread.
a million YES to all the mates who said get ur suspension issues updated coz i for one can second it all.
well mates, thank god i got my details right, and that's why she takes me to places FAST & SAFE. my gal's only got eibach+bilstein - which i find soft enough, plus with michelin ps2+brembo[disc only]+stainless steel brakelines to keep her glued and eliminate sponginess under heavy braking, in short the need to stop at 240km.
no joke, recently me & kelvinleong went down to mersing,we ran pretty ok[considering the fact that, family was with us],we reached mersing: 2hrs30min,all in a 525 e39.thanx to the 'racun' spend.
the point is don't f@#k around with ur suspension,if u ran above180km.even ur beloved BM won't be able to SAFE herself.

ps.don't we LOVE our RIDES, to die for, right mates.

dude

Interested to find out more about your Brembo disc and braided hoses. How much did it cost? Were can I get a set sorted out?

I too suffer from the spongy brakes after a little too much wacking and was thinking of uprating my brakes.

I will try the corner again in the next couple of days with the DSC off and on. Lets see if the same thing happens again. Will keep you guys posted. ( thats if I dont end up on a tree)

Cheers!!!

Fami,
No need for you to test drive lah, my DSC is working fine. Saw the triangle amber light blinking when I was cornering and ended up going over a pool of water on my left hand side. It was over in a blink of an eye...

Leon,
Try do do the test as suggested by Abang yazid. At least put your mind at ease...

oop mate,
why say like that ''...end up on a tree",nolah as long as you drive knowing that what ur gal can do with u, ur fine.
well, about the brembo disc i gotit for RM1400perpair i think, and i bought 2sets at one go.[that's bcoz kelvinleong wanted a set too, earlier he got his for RM2k+],we got it cheap coz i knew alan at autofutura.callme if u need help with alan.

drive safe mate,if u choose 2drive fast.

Thanks for the input.

RM 1.4K for the brembo with installation? Did you uprate the calipers too or just the disc? How is it diff from the original disc's?

Thanks

mate,
no,just the part, auto futura sells parts only.u can getit fitted at ur regular mech.
no mate,did'nt change the calipers.

how different; i'll say BETTER GRIB [pls note,NOT saying the originals are not good enough, coz our ori's are f@#kin excellent, but these are "GRIBier" at top speed,] now all these are my experience.

LET'S HEAR FROM THE OTHER MATEs, they might have a different take...

brader E39 pilots,

I dug this thread because I am doing research on the E39 suspension setup, particularly for M-Sport versions, which I have.

I am looking for the Sachs abs as this seems to match what I have and need. However, I'd like to know if anyone would be kind enough to let me "feel" how does the E39 handle on B6 / B8 / Koni / Boge setups.

If you know where to find Sachs in Malaysia, please let me know. I find my current setup a bit bumpy on the rear, which is on Boge with M-sport springs and in front, with Sachs and M-sport springs. Def not fun driving this way. Please HELP!!!!
