E39 ALPINA Spotted in a Usedcar at Seapark

checked it out yesterday, its the real thing.. Now it belongs to the boss's friends car, still not up for sale, roadtax died since 2009, tyres all flat, car in not so bad shape..needs a good body work and paint job, interior still nice and intact, but below the hood, is a BEAST, sadly its not moving anywhere.
Oh yea, the other strange thing is, when i popped the hood, i noticed 2 vin numbers, the original one seemes scratched and replaced by another one..didn't bother asking the chap, since he wasn't co-operating much to what i was asking him.

aiseehhh i went late evening with my cheque book and was told the same too ...he told me another chap drop by and why out of a sudden many ppl coming by ....

i went there driving my kereta buruk only ....

halfcut, prolly, but according to the unfriendly chap, its not..asked him if he had the papers, he said don't know. asked him for the boss's number, he said cant give..can u believe that..hahaa

Wah!!! So many people want to get their hands on the Alpina. Iceman went as far as taking his cheque book with him. Any idea what year is this beauty? I believe everything has its price. I would just like to get my hands on the rims. I wonder whether the current owner would fancy a swap with my 18".

I've seen 1 540i/6, black with cream interior at my old mech's shop in Gasing. This was a year back. Very nice condition and the lovely V8 matched to a lovely sticky...:love:

Saw the roadtax, almost collapsed!

Then recently i saw another 540iA, green with ACS kits. Saw an old man behind the wheel with his couple next to him.

This is another indication that this is a real {ALPINA}. Alpina is not a tuner but a re-manufacturer. They buy cars from BMW, do work on it and apply for new chassis numbers, papers etc, from TUV.

Just gotta make sure our JPJ understands that.....:top:

You ae absolutely right!

They have in fact two VINs (Vehicle Identification numbers).

The original BMW one, which is crossed out (physically with a X, this is done with a laser). This is done in such a way that the VIN is still readable.

And the ALPINA one. This is the car's real VIN which should appear on the vehicles V5 (in the UK).

Just to confuse BMW refer to the car using the original VIN on their computers.

please tell me more about ALPINA .i heard alot about Alpina but not really understand it??? in that same meaning like the mercerdes BRABUS etc ??? ALPINA better instead M5??? please advise.
