Fahmi,
I initially set out to get a 328 as I was sure I wouldnt find a 325 which met my requirements.
Then I became a bit impatient. Along came a 325 which looked good and extremely low mileage. I lost my senses and immediately stuck a deal.
Later I discovered the car had suffered from overheating which had damaged the cylinder head.
I have already spent about RM10k on the car and it may very well double before I'm finished restoring my car. So far I have sorted out the paintwork, suspension , cooling system.Currently working on the engine and then there is the interior, tyres, sound system etc
My friends think I'm crazy to pour money into a 12 yr old car but if I do end up spending RM60 in all, it still beats driving a Waja.
If you feel the same then take the plunge but Fahmi whatever u choose E36 or E46...as long as it is second hand its goin to cost u money to fix and maintain.
My advise ........buy E36 cash if you can afford it.If you choose E46, keep you repayments low...try to pay 50% deposit. Then u will truly be able to enjoy the car w/o having to worry about finances when u have to repair the car.
So my advise is be very careful when choosing a car whether its a 318,325 or 328, you must ensure that the owner has cared for the car and maintained it or you will be saddle with years of neglect.
