I have a question for the members here. I'm driving a E36 328i and although I find this car a joy to drive but it does feel heavy ... after all it is a heavy car as most of the other owners acknowledged. The reason I'm asking is because it's time to consider for an upgrade and I'm wondering if anyone here knows (due to new technology) if the E90 and E60 is less weight to drive, compared to the E36. If I'm not mistaken the E39 is as heavy to drive as the E36. If only I can also keep the E36. Any suggestions I can use to the deputy minister?

E30 is the best choice in terms of light weight.
E36 is about 3000lbs. I would say E36 is a well mix of comfort, luxury, performance, and 'light weight'.
Newer cars are getting heavier and taller, but more powerful as well.
I will pick E30 for track use.
