Hey all. I'm wondering what are your opinion on family owning several BMWs in their garage. I know some friends here who have several but all of different class. One of us here have a E39 & E46 in their garage. Another have E30, E28, E36 and a 7 series. Another have E36 and E34. Etc. But what about having a E46 and a E90? Both are the same class. Most family would have cars off different class for different use. Normally there's a sedan (like the 3 series, C class) and MPV or bigger size sedan (like 5 series, E Class, Accord, Camry, Wish, Estima). It's something I'm pondering. Tq

Sometimes people simply don't enjoy driving cars that are too bulky, or maybe they live in an area where the streets are narrow and parking is difficult. E46 and E90 are already pretty substantial cars, so unless one has a big family or needs to haul cargo on a regular basis, they should be fine for most purposes. After all, why drive a big car if you don't need it? Like those people commuting daily in their Alphards with no passengers.

To show they're rich and can afford Toyota :love:

Yeah guess so, I swear Malaysia must be the only country in the world where people can think they're so prestigious by driving a toyota van. :stupid:

Hey all, yes I do have a few from the same models..

I've got 2002, e30 and e36.. but of course still lacking of e21,e46 and e90 !
Even though it is the 02 series, I always regard it as the 'big brother or pioneer' for the 3 series..

Cheers

used to have e46 318i and e46 m3 cabrio at the same time...but i sold my 318i..and now got 1 m3,audi a4 and crv...maybe a Z4 later...

A prestigious van? Is there such a thing? Merc R class? No...no...no..:68:

Maybe I'm more practical kind of person... I notice that there are a lot of hardcore BMW fans here in Malaysia. I'm one of them too... but it took me a while before I bought one. But the car is registered under company's name. Therefore, all maintenance expenses will be borne by the company...
My ideal garage - 1 BMW for my daily working usage, 1 MPV for the family (preferably the latest Estima) and 1 weekend sport car (looking at either Z4 replacement, 350Z or Porsche Cayman) :D

that's why... work my ass out just to make my wish comes true!!! :top:

How about one BMW MPV codenamed the F5 which is due next year and one Porsche Cayman S? The best arrangement for most families and also the most logical and affordable solution.:top:

i've got an e60 and a Honda Jazz under my porch.. would love to replace the Jazz with a small MPV thingy from BMW but sadly such a car doesn't exist..yet.the 1-series is a little too cramped at the back to even be considered,i do hope BMW makes a small people carrier in the same class as the CrossPolo.at the moment, the CrossPolo is at the top of my list to replace the Jazz, unless BMW comes out with one...

I prefer slightly larger MPV... looked at BMW F5 but it looks like an oversized wagon than a MPV :D
It'll be another 2-3 years before I get the MPV... family is still small at the moment so don't see the need for one.
FYI.. I'm drooling for a Cayman S... lol!!

Actually, a family with 3 children or less there's no need for an MPV. The E65/66 is a good alternative, with more sense of style. I believe next year onwards there will be quite a number of cheap Cayman S on sale since the economic outlook is not quite good. Start saving now.

:27: bro, I know that la... but don't forget the in-laws... and possibly a maid sometime in the future. that's why I opt for MPV.

Anytime when I know that there's going to be a huge family outing I'd go out and rent an Estima. Cheaper that way.

thankfully,i don't need a friggin' MPV..small family,no maid(thank god).

the e60,which is plenty huge for me,would suffice as the family chariot.the Jazz only serves as a small economical runabout for grocery/school runs and local driving.also helps me keep a low profile in my local area which is somewhat rural.

all i need next is a small sportscar for my personal entertainment..being close to the Sepang F1 will definitely be a bonus.would love a big engined 1er coupe/hatch:wink: ...or even a Subaru STi:love:

hahahha... different ppl have different needs. My next target will be MPV...
