Depending on how long I have to wait at the traffic light.... Short wait (+/-15sec), remain in D, long wait, shift to N. Melaka traffic lights always give the indication of the waiting time at the traffic light, which is good...

Just leave in D at traffic lights. Modern auto transmission no need shift to N to reduce wear to transmission. Shifting from D to N actually cause more wear and tear.
