If you are used to using left foot for braking, it would extremely dangerous to drive manual car again. Your feet will kelam kabut when your respond to emergency situations.

A simple test is switching between Japanese and continental cars (and some protons). Most of the time you will get it right when you want to turn on signal light or wipers. You seems to automatically switch between the opposing types of stalk layout.

However sometimes when mind drifted away while you are driving (in my case quite often actually), our "auto pilot system" tends to confuse about which type of car we driving and hence wiper comes on when we want to turn, so does the signal light coming on when we need the wiper on.

As 1 thing u have to know. Driving manual but using left foot for braking is 1 of the Technique of racing. This can helps u take the super sharp corner for front drive car and might save u when front drive car lost control at corner.

Fully release accelarate pedal while in corner is meaning losing traction. That is why this technique is very important for racing while not release the accelarate pedal and can take the sharp corner faster and saver.

i don't think that i could drive with both feet, perhaps due to training and habits formed over the years. learning to drive with a manual transmission, and trained to jam both the clutch and brake in emergencies, i might do what solo's dad has said and whack both the accelerator and brake if driving with my feet on both.
anyways, i guess it's a matter of training and ambidextrousity with your feet.

you are quite amazing, bro! mind sharing your car number?
...i'd like to make sure i don't drive too closely to you if i happen to cross your path :4:

Why not u sit in my car see u can differentiate i using left foot or right foot while i am driving ?

And see what is the different when come to corner and make U-turn ?

With this skills are not meant for normal car driver. This is more for learn more for emergency. eg if i driving manual car, while emergency braking, i will shift down the gear. This is 1 of the racing technique as well. But will u think that this skill not for normal user ?

My scientific reasoning behind why I drive with two feet - When you ride a bicycle or motorcycle, you are taught to rest your index and middle fingers on the brake handles so you are ready to brake anytime. Funny no one ever says this is dangerous.

But cars, are not like bicycles or motorcycles that can decelerate immediately from whatever speed you are at. A car driver can reduce his, or her, reaction time by 0.2 seconds by having the left foot hovering over brake pedal. In a car moving at 100kph, that 0.2 seconds equals to about 5.36 meters. And that length, is the length of one car.

So by having my left foot hovering over the brake pedal, I can save one-car length in stopping distance. To me, at 100kph or faster, every centimeter counts in an emergency.

Salut

totally agreed.............hehehehehehehehe

..how many of you, driving car with removed shoes ?? I found it rather difficult or better say, uncomfortable to drive with shoes on. With shoes removed during driving, I feel much much more accelerator, as well as brake and way more precise (or its my imagination)..either way, any time I can, ill drive without shoes..what about you guys ??

I am using both feet for driving and some time if my right foot tired then i use my left foot for accelerate pedal and brake pedal. i totally not agree ur father saying that driving both feet is dangerous.

Dangerous is because they are not able to control both feet. What is can say is if my car has enuf house power then i am sure with my current skill i am make my car low speed drift. Even in emergency, is very lucky that have this skill if not i already has accident long time ago.
i tried using my left foot on accelerator and braking the other day after reading this to see if it's an option when my right foot is tired. i think i'd have to rest my right foot on the chair or armrest first before being able to maneuver my left feet to comfortably drive the accelerator. dem steady man your skill.

For using left foot on accelerate pedal, need to be well train then only drive on the road or else is very dangerous. Normally UDM brake and accelerate pedal not at same level, so if emergency using left foot on accelerate pedal might cause you not able to place your left foot at brake pedal on time. That is why must be super well train then only use it.
