Jipster, the circumstances leading to KHS's banning had been discussed at great length but yet you choose to ignore pertinent points which justified this course of action. While I was the Secretary of the Protem Committee of the Official BMW Club of Malaysia, I didn't get any calls from BMW Malaysia screaming blue blardy murder about any other threads tarnishing their global image EXCEPT his soiled panties thread. This put me in the worst possible and defeasible position. Tell you what, why don't you take the call next time and try defending the Club. Perhaps, you would have done a better job at defending the "freedom of speech" position since you seem so darn smart!

Initially, some of us had politely discussed and requested for the soiled panties thread to be removed. Please refer to DD's emphatic and friendly admonitions. This led to a massive campaign and terrorist acts by KHS calling BMW Malaysia as "holier than thou" and alleging their employees frequent undesirable and morally reprehensible places. That he then chose to widen the conflict by drawing both sides into disputing other "harmless" threads is dispeakable and you say he has basis for this infernal affair?

I'm tired and I thot the last time I explained this to you in an amicable manner, I thought the matter could rest for the sake of the bigger picture. Those who have an objective mind could see my point but you choose to ignore the salient facts leading me to suspect your idol-worship of KHS has got a "hidden agenda" in blatantly passing judgment on the Committee.

I'm no longer in the Committee. I don't always agree with them and their methods. In fact, on your last issue, I even told them you had a valid point and urged for improvement. But I certainly understand and feel the headache and heartache they go through in having to perpetuate the Club on the one hand and deal with the judgmental sentiments you have expressed. They deserve a break. You should be in the next Committee.

Anyways, I don't wish to perpetuate this disagreement in open forum. Perhaps, you can give me a call or gimme your tel. number? Use the PM facility, thanks.

JPB, lets not blow this outta proportion.

Jippy agreed that KHS posts were not in place, but the manner of the ban was done was not appropriate either.

Notice how tactful the iLV, aka Latok, ban was handled?? Tactful, effective and precise so other members know why he was banned.

The issue here is the due process, not the member nor his crusade against the committee or BMW Malaysia. In the end, it seemed that he was judged, sentenced and hang without a trial, as Latok got one.

Lets cool down now..... this is not a fight.....

I'm realising this and am quite sorry for tarnishing the improving situation. It's just that the "phone call" from BMW Malaysia left quite a permanent scar on my (and the Committee's) repute while I was trying to defend the Club. Hence, I have invited Jipster to discuss with me privately. Thanks guys!

As for reading of PM's, the committee has already investigated & there is no way to read. So many times explain still need to bring it up meh? If you all not happy, please talk to Tom directly to get clarification. If you all still feel that we are doing so, please issue a lawyers letter. I'm really sick of repeating myself.

We understand the griviences from the members. Next time we act differently especially when ITS OTHER PEOPLES MONEY! or when there is query. All queries will be discussed in our meetings. Please also take the oppurtunity to talk to the committee during the various events like TT on fridays.
Please do post in the Club Enquiries Section in future, call or PM.
If you ave doubts, the committee has been elected by the members, so if you really cant accept the current committee, you hv a right to request for an EGM to vote for a new committee.
I'm doing this without any benefit, on my free time when i can find & i definately dun need the accuses that i'm getting.
So i suggest that we all heard from most of us, & we do not need to hear again what has already been discussed, explained.
Funny how everyone must put in a last word.

Anyway, we are here to have fun. Not argue or fight. Lets instead look at what we can do to make this a club that we are proud of. Lets concentrate on the events thats coming along soon.

This is really my last words on this issue n i hope the same for all.

Aiya, its okie. Let everyone say their piece lor. I think the issue of KHS and ILV has been deliberated over and over again. It has happened and we all should move forward. If some quarters feel he is unfairly treated before being dismissed, then committee will exercise more caution when we dealing with the next problem child. That being said, I think we should close the chapter on this issue.

BUToh, you were invited for the pre-launch of the E90 at Avenue K, fine! Congrats!! But to arrogantly stuff this at our faces is very unkind. I've been invited for the official launch too but took the trouble to include elwine30 and eldrow by faxing details of their address and tel. no. to Auto Bavaria. Did you do the same for any of us? Yet, you brag in our face? This world can seem so unfair but there's another place where fairness will be absolute. Better learn to live with that now!!

I have utmost respect for the Site Administrator/webmaster..... my humble apologies if the following rubs you the wrong way...... its just that I feel compelled to write when ever i feel people have missed the point of an issue raised.....

I know that my incessant postings have irked many of the members here but again my apologies as I feel that these issues, though seemingly transient, are important ones that must be addressed for the future credibility and integrity of the forum/club......

I think what Mr. Butoh is trying to say is - if your involvement in the club is purely on a voluntary basis, which it should be, one should not at the same time say or even complain "i dont get paid for this u know!"....... it is a commitment that one makes knowing full well what the commitments and obligations are....... the other members should not be made to feel 'guilty' for putting you through the ordeal of being a committee member...

I think what Mr. Butoh is trying to say is - the forum is on the internet. The nature of the internet is that it is open to the world and open to everyone. You have to expect all sorts of people, good and bad....... perhaps the correct mindset is - knowing full well the possibility of wierdos becoming members, there needs to be some degree of tact and consistency in dealing with the ones that choose to make problems...... remember, not everyone here knows each other..... even if we do, the knowledge may be superficial........ which makes it more important to handle the situation properly.......

I am not sure what Mr. Butoh wants to say here. However, here are some thoughts on this.....

Firstly, does registartion on the forum make you a member of the club - if it does, shouldnt it be the other way around to be consistent with the statement 'the forum complements the club'? i.e. you are a club members via some club registration process and the forum is there for your benefit - complements club activities etc.

I am sure no one remembers registering as a club member but knows they have at least registered as a user of the forum which incidentally only complements the club.....

Secondly, on the forum homepage the (apparent) links to the club are not working but the others e.g. the one leading to the forums are.....

I suppose a way around this would be to say the forum IS THE CLUB..... but is it? Would that be proper? You see, this may not interest everyone but think about it..... its a fundamental issue..... its what makes the club what it is.....

Granted, the postings were going downhill at some point..... but the real point here is WHERE DO YOU DRAW THE LINE? What makes soiled panties worse than 'the use of the word F'? What about the MCP thread or the roadsigns thread or......... sometimes a thread starts innocently enough but descends into pure and utter crap....... hence some here have uttered 'double standards' etc......... a way around this is to have a thought out approach....... a more comprehensive dos and donts list etc. .....how have the other forums handled this etc.....

Oh c'mon Tom..... u can do better than that ....... the point he is trying to make is - if we are an officially recognised club, shouldnt BMW Malaysia include us in some (not even all-lah) of their activities...... correct me if I am worng, the last do at Hartamas was apparently courtesy of Souled Out (even then i suspect that was becoz we had our do there recently, otherwise forget it dudes!)........ this is what got some of the members into trouble i think....... they openly criticised the fact that the club is so beholden of BMW Malaysia but BMW Malaysia has not returned the favour.....there is simply no reciprocity! Since I have been a member I only remember only the last AGM where they contributed something........... so my question is "When arr, Mr. BMW Malaysia?"....

I think this statement by Mr. Butoh was unnecessary. I know what some of you are going to say.....soooo longwinded lah this guy, like broken record summore...... but i dont really care anymore .....
