Me thinking of staying at Royale Bintang Hotel at The Curve, Mutiara Damansa

Do u know the quickest way from Royale Bintang to the grand TT? How far is it?

Bro, Very easy...no turn off, just follow the road on Lebuhraya Damansara Puchong or LDP. ..slightly tricky exiting Curve area onto LDP...after that no probs. Should take about 15 to 20 mins, clear traffic or up to 45 min under heavy traffic.

Should be around that price. They dont have many rooms but they are in a very convenient location...shopping, cinemas and bars connected. Book early to avoid dissapointment.
Ask me again closer to the event and I'll guide you from Mutiara Damansara (the tricky bit)

I am planning to attend the Grand TT but will not be joining the convoy as we have The1 or DrHadi's wedding to attend. He is asking us to convoy or escort him to his wedding. I will be heading down once the weeding is over, it think about 2pm. Meet you guys there.

bro... hheheh 130 is not powerful enuff meh? hehehe...btw..pls bear in mind that a sweeper plays a vital role in a convoy..so i suggest we need someone who is experienced....even if he's driving a 2002...:wink:..

Perhaps can meet up around Ipoh (as Ipoh is on the way) and then continue to convoy to the Grand TT on 14/06/2008. Time to be determined in due course..

Suggested Itinary

8:30 - 9:00am : Meet at Oldtown Kopitiam, Medan Ipoh
9:10am : Depart for PJ
12noon : Arrive PJ & proceed for lunch
2.00 - 3.30pm : Free & easy / check-in-hotel
3.30 - 3:40pm : Meet at _______ to convoy to Grand TT (Mini Bimmerfest)

Suggested place to meet:
1. OLDTOWN White Coffee kopitiam at Medan Ipoh (near Tesco/Jusco) - so that we can have a quick drink/eat/smoke/talk while waiting for all to arrive punctually, instead of sitting in the car & burning away fuel. Quite ample parking spaces available too. And near the Ipoh Toll exit too.
2. McDonald Drive-In, Medan Ipoh

ermm... since I've had some experience with walkies and convoys, just sharing some info on the use of talkies...
I recommend not bothering with those short range 'toy' talkies. I tried them hehehe... barely usable during convoy cos radio communication is dependent on terrain and distance, communication tends to break up and fail. (I tried those sold at RM98 per set and it's not suitable for use during a convoy)

There are good sets for sale in KL for like RM380 a set...and they're very good.. up to 5km of communication. (min 1 km if the terrain is bad)

We had convoy groups of 8 cars before, and each car had a radio for constant 'convoy news' broadcast (eg. last min stops for toilet use, food, breakdowns etc)
