I have an E46 328i..... absolutely LOVE IT! Prior to purchasing this car I test drove the E36 325i & 328i, E46 325i & 328i and even the E39 530i.
Honestly, among the pack above the best was (obviously) the E39 - 530i.
But coz E39 is larger in size and I wanted something compact, I went for the second best option which was the E46 328i... The most enjoyable thing about the car is the amount of torque it has... absolutely amazing feeling... The E36 328i - eventhough I was also an amazing car - gave me a much lighter feeling than the raw bulkiness of the E46... but I would say, if you really want sheer driving pleasure from your UDM - GO WITH THE BIGGER ENGINES!... its awesome man!
