Down..btw it juz after 2 months after i installed it..zzz

2 month only definately still under warranty why not take back to check or ask him replaced it?

yea..i think so too..contacted the shop...juz asking if there s anything i could do first, (maybe loose connection or anything, hehe) bcoz i m out station rite now, maybe 1 or 2 weeks later will be able to go back to KL.. till then, i have to bear seeing my car's winking!!
Really dont like that! Haha

where did you buy the CCFL?

And where is the CCFL installed? Is it inside the HeadLight or outside the headlight.

I bought it from one of the forumers here, he s selling at a reasonable price though.
I dont really sure what u mean by inside/outside, but i think it's inside. Hehe. nvm la, i ll just go back to his shop later.he should be able to fix it.
but.. already dont feel like driving at night anymore! dont like to see it winking! Haha

If it is inside, then your inverter is kaput. I have the same problem. It overheat when it placed inside the low beam compartment of the xenon light side.

So far I have 1 inverter spoiled for E46 and 2 spoiled for E36. Never have any problem when using the older type.

Hope to get to exchange under warranty.

but i remember he mentioned the reason why it was put inside the headlight to avoid the heat from the engine.. -_-

Owwwhh... dammit that accessories told my friend that his ballast gone when one of his Angel Eyes wasn't working.

Technically, a ballast is a combination of ignitor and inverter. HID lamp required an ignitor to conduct the xenon gas by arcing. Once arcing is achieved, the inverter take over and keep the arcing of the gas going.

Jarance, Out of curiousity, how much the inverter cost? and is it normally sold separately?

btw my problem solved, the seller has contacted me and will replace it for me, coz it s just 2 months..I am happy with his service and will recommend him to those installing angel eyes!

Thanks!

No idea. Usually they are sold as a set. Nowadays quite cheap. RM170 if I am not mistaken. Used to be RM300 when first sold.

Good to hear the supplier willing to replace it. If you dont mind, who is your supplier?

As for me, I usually repair the inverter myself. But nowadays, they seal the inverter with epoxy resin and make it difficult to repair it. It use to come with a plastic cover which is easy to open.

I got the same problem as you haha . . My original CCFL inverter blew up after 2 hours i installed the lights haha . . But they've replaced a new 1 for me without any charges ! ! I was quite happy with that also .Got it done in Penang V-Xtreme(B1bodykitclub)...

the left side of my inverter also kaput, that's y i lost the angle eye on the left but right side still OK, upon checking the inverter bloated, after changing everything OK now, they say its because of the heat from the engine. anyway, it lasted exactly a year

Wah, sounds like the CCFL angel eyes are not exactly lasting. Is it possible to have them installed so that they are switched on separately from the headlights? If one ring dies, then at least you'll have the option to turn them all off (no winking)

Haha . . . Depends on our luck lo . . . If lucky then it might last long . . Unlucky then after few months you'll need to replace a new Inverter again . . Its no expensive but jus troublesome .
