All the cars u've mentioned have their merits.

End of the day u need to ask urself what u want the car to do for u... do u want speed? comfort? handling? or perhaps the brand?

I was in the same position as u about 10 months ago.Tested all the cars that was on my list, except for the C250CGI which obviously wasn't out yet that time.I had a budget of about rm330k..and almost went for a Golf GTi mk6 + a Sylvia S15R.

I then found a grey import e90 335i sitting innocently in a showroom in Bangsar..went for a testdrive and rest was history. It was all that I wanted from a car..period.If u can find one,try get a testdrive and see how it feels like.I can tell u one thing, none of the car in ur list will come close to it in terms of driver satisfaction.

Thanks to all your input. It is very informative and yes I will definitely include E90 335i in my list. What I'm looking for is actually a good all rounder sport saloon, something that is good for daily use ( going to work etc ) and the car must also capable to perform should you feel like 'playing' with other cars :) you know what I mean :)

A car that will put a big smile on your face when you have a nice set of curvy road like Karak - KL Highway and the one that can lift your social status should you drive one to hotel or golf club :)

I'm pretty much biased. Driven Benz, Audi, STi, 350Z and my heart still goes to the bimmer (note: driven, never owned. I'm not made out of gold!)

If I had 320k to spend, I would:

a) Get myself a UK recond 335i E90 for RM230-250k, depending on options (i-Drive, sunroof, sports seats, etc)
b) Upgrade to ///M body kit and repaint to the color of my liking (white for me, but can be other colors for you)
c) Kidney grills and window frame, swap them out for them black matte/carbon fiber
d) BMW Performance Exhaust System, Intake System, Suspension System, Aluminum Struts
e) 19" wheels - the swankiest that you can find.

But like I said, I'm biased. My heart is set.

Are the 335i E90s really that cheap? Last I looked earlier this year even the 2006 were 300k and beyond.

Got mine for rm325k..2007 UK spec 335i.

I don't think u can get one below rm320k..more so the e90 cuz its very rare here.

May I suggest angel eyes too?...

I have tested A4 Quattro, C250CGI, Passat CC, E90 325:)o owning an E46 325i now)

First thing first, if you asked me to pick between Passat CC & C250CGI, I would take up the Passast CC without hesitation. I was very disappointment about the road noise, handling & peda, enginel response of C250CGI. I always have to step very hard & wait for the turbo to come, listen to the engine screaming... Before the turbo kick in, reall boring... When I told the sales attendant just like a Japanese car feel, she said "not so bad kua???" Anway, no offense but not my cup of tea, sorry but I really don't like the feel. Passat is much more fun to drive. Then the button also very confusing, VW's is much more easy to understand.

Then Quattro vs Passat CC, then of course the Quattro lah... AWD, perfect. I push hard in a round about, 4 wheels push together & slide, fun!

Quattro vs E90 325, it all depends on your preference. I like B8 A4 very much but I am bored now with it's design but I will still turn my head on every E90 drive through. Power is always fun but not as fun as you step on the gas in the corners & pull away effortlessly from the others.(I am not AB level's yet... hehehe)

The sweet straight 6 engine roar, the precise gas & brake pedal feel.(it practically response to every cm of your input), the heavy steering, a communicative chassis. If you ask me about my next car, definitely a 325, keeping 335 in my check list :top:

My 2 cents.

The Passat...looks like an elongated brinjal-out! You want a sporty looking car besides the 8secs and below century sprint, right?

The BMW and Merc are at the end of the day the leading 2 brands in the world of the marques we can afford to buy and drive daily. So,I think why not wait for a while before driving them?

Now, the Audi with their distinct DRLs and I also heard raves about the Quattro AWD handling. Audi is usually a car you won't consider buying unless you got something against a Merc or a BMW badge. I figure,if you ever thought of buying an Audi, this is the best time as any-with the 1.8 Quatrro,of buying one. CBU quality, all wheeldrive in that price bracket..what more do you want?

The 325i with his sweet revving 6 cylinders engine is a great car...but it's also almost a yesterday car, with the new 3 series rolling out just around the corner. But I read a BMW magazine just yesterday which said, this is the best time to buy the 325i for exactly those reasons-you won't find many 6 cylinders NA cars around in the future, it commented.

But then again, go test drive again and again...and tell us,ok?-your pick! We also worked hard in helping you with your predicament!...ha ha!

if u dun mind a 2 dr coupe den a 335 sld b yr ultimate choice.
if u r really in favour of a 4 dr saloon den get a a4 quattro... good all rounder car.(price is somewat over inflated tho)
if u like NA & FR driving dynamics get a 325 n turn off the DSC or turn on DTC n drive it daily.. FUN FUN FUN
if u like limiting e space of yr rear seat passengers den get a passat cc(of course until e 5 seater is available)
if u like to be branded a successful OLD fart get a Merc n pray hard to God to stay on e road during spirited drives.

either way gud luck, they're all good cars juz tt its boils down to personal preference.

wo... that sounds really scary mate!

If you like the Passat, go get it seriously. it is not only the cheapest but it is also the latest of the four. and, it comes with a 5-year warranty, which is a big big plus point. Its depreciation rate will expectedly be higher, compared with Merc and BMW but this will be somewhat offset by Passat's (lowest) price. Test drive it and decide. Of the remaining three, I would choose BMW. Good luck!

Agreed..the new Passat CC comes with a DSG box and the same excellent engine that powers the Golf GTi mk5.Very tuneable:wink: Just make sure u get over the brand thingy cuz u don't want to be left wanting when u realize that u have a VW instead of a BMW.IF u are not a brand concious person, the Passat CC is a great car to own.U'll even have a spare rm70-80k to get urself a superbike hehehe..

I'd get a 335i 4door if I had that kind of money to spend.
