Different people is talking differently and the only one party to know is BMW (like our PM on pooling date). So keep our fingers cross.

The E90 320i is priced some where around RM245k so I guess this is the benchmark.

F30 320i turbo selling at RM245k will definitely impact sales for the 320d (selling at RM267k base model). Performance same same..

I also think it will impact the sales of 320d if both same spec unless 320d got lots of goddies. They must know that in malaysia bmw diesel is still new not many will buy because of mileage as petrol is subsidised here. So they will have to make the 320d cheaper in order to sell, i guess. otherwise all those 320d lovers just waitlah for them to sell pre-reg at bargain price. Both also good option for me

The good thing about Diesel is the amount of torque it produces. At the same time there are also "cons" about Diesel cars so that is why they are not the mainstream (it's still petrol) :) Therefore some people might want to buy a petrol and some that wants torque would opt for diesel. I think both would sell well and it's a matter of which one the owner prefers.

The E90 320d is selling for RM260K .. higher than E90 320i ..... how's the 320d sales? What I see is it sells like hot cake!

I don't think 320i will sell lower than 320d, and furthermore F30 should be higher price than E90. So unless E90 current stock is going on huge discount, I guess that F30 320i should be much higher than current E90 320i ( I am talking about both being CKD)

Why should it be higher than e90? E90 320i is going to Finnish soon, and new model f30 Ckd prices follow back the old one, what's wrong ?

any ideas as to when the CKD 320i will be out? some speculate december...hopefully if the price is like the e90 320i will hold off on puchasing the 320d...what do u guys think?

My guess:cool:

BMW malaysia will price their cars by performance

240-250k shall be a 318d 145hp

M-Sport Version
Most importantly it comes with mixed Wheel. Spec as Front 225/45/18, Rear 255/40/18
Then some M-sport deco

I think they have to price the 320 higher than the 320d ( if same spec) bcos the 320 has new engine with the same hp and quite a good torque eventhough lower than the 320d. Even the fuel consumtion is good. For the e90 the 320d was very much better than 320 but not now I dont think 320d will sell well if 320 is cheaper. Whether we accept it or not i think we cannot get a good resale value for a diesel car coz in Malaysia only minority use diesel unlike uk where majority use diesel because they get fuel saving of 20% over 5 years (according to my calculation) on the cost of the car. Over here we dont get much saving because 1) our car price is high 2)fuel got subsidy.

I also think there will be more space to tune the 320 because it uses the same engine as 328 right?

I think either way the dieselheads should get the 320d at a bargain

1. BMW have to price it lower than 320

2. If bmw price it higher than 320, than they should give a very good spec for it...i mean top spec

3. If they price it higher than the 320 with same spec, then they cant sell it well. At the end of the day they have to give huge discounts to clear the stocks

At the end , we the customers will decide and in Malaysia we should buy it at a cheaper price. Just look at the pricing of the 520d

At the same spec, a 320d is more expensive than a 320i. This is what happened with the E90 (diesel was around 7k more expensive) and it'll happen with the F30.

You may be right but I am wondering how much cheaper can the f30 320 be than the 320d because now the 320 comes with twin power turbo, 184 hp , 270nm and 0 to 100 in 7.6 sec ilmost the same as 320d performance and better than the current e90 323 performance. If you compare to the e90 320 was only 156 hp , 200nm, no turbo and 0 to 100 in 9.8 sec. what if BMW msia decided to brand the F30 320 as 323 in malaysia (i dont know if they can, but they have done before), then would still say it will be cheaper than 320d? After all the performace is better than the e90 323 what?

I see where you're coming from (ie. BMW Malaysia taking advantage of performance to bump up pricing and increasing their profits). But the F10 has set a standard as well so maybe it will be 320d (base specs) < 320i (higher specs) < 328i?

I wish BMW Malaysia would have some sort of customization program ie. choose your engine and choose the car style (Sport, Modern, Luxury) in addition to the interior/exterior color choices we already have. I guess we can dream :D
