docray, as much as I'd like to upgrade, I don't have 100k to spend on a slightly newer car with iDrive :( And shouldn't you be aiming higher? A 335 maybe? :D

No lah gameover...the 320d with or without an iDrive is already a very good car. I didn't like the 335d that much on the extended test drive I drove it during the Innovation Days.

Quite happy with the my 320d even without the idrive, docray. iDrive is a nice to have but not a must to enjoy a BMW. I think I will wait for the F30 335d :)

Guys, I agree with you. My nearly 7yrs old 325i still put a smile on my face when I push it. I enjoy every moment with it without any gadgets. It only give me the basic needs. The rest are the engine roar & handling.

Yes, I would love to have newer car with lots of gadget. Everytime I test drive a newer car, yes, I do have the urge to switch, but when I calm down and driving my own car. i find that i still love it. It still perform & answer, I think I will stick to it a bit longer and save the money for a newer car.

Guess I will wait till Mid/2011. May pick up a real EOL E90 either 320d or 325i, depending on my budget that time. It's definitely fully loaded at that time & fully countermeasured, probably the ring will be also white type like the F10.

Yeah and the depreciation is crazy!! What is your 7 year old 325i worth now, Vroom325? Maybe 80,000MR? Probably not worth letting it go, right?

You are right, its the car, the engine that makes the difference.....or maybe (from a medical point of view)...we are merely trying to console ourselves...slight case of sour grapes? ha ha!! Everytime we look at the dash, doesn't it look barer now?

Will the 320d retain its WhatCar Best Compact Executive Car of The Year Award this year?
Tonight's the WhatCar Car-Of-The-Year Gala Awards dinner in London. By tomorrow morning we'll know. I'm attending the dinner tonight at The Great Hall, Grosvenor Street, London. Will take a few pics and upload for you all. Representing Top Gear Malaysia. Donald couldn't make it. If any of you all are in London these couple of days, give me a shout. Have a lager together-or, as they say here in England.... a spot of tea, if that's your preference.

A full tank of that liquid-jelly-gold called diesel gets you 800kms of spirited driving in a 320d. What else would an avid motoring enthusiast like you desire?-besides the X5 3.0d, of course.

335d:) I do hope BMW Msia will bring in the 325d as well. Had the opportunity to drive these cars last year and somehow the inline 6 diesel engines are quieter and smoother. The X6 4.0d sounds similar to 320d.

It can only get better...ALBundy. Diesel's the way forwards. Euro 4 bring it on, govt!

2004 full package 325i still worth about 100k+. Base on the condition of the car, I am very confident it can be sold a good price. The original paint work with teflon coating stillout shine a lot of 2-3yrs old car and the mileage is still 73k km. I can still get some money back from the bank if I sell it now.

It's not the money, I have put in effort to make it a very good condition car, it's just not worthwhile to let go now after all the work. Though it doesn't has any of the gadgets, but that's ok with me.

I bought it with 130k, nearly 2yrs back from BPS, about 30k of depreciation for 2yrs, reasonable! With all the repair that BMW has paid for my car under 1st year warranty, it's in very good condition now and I have just changed the lower arm bush & brakes.

Just too hard to let go now, espeically I am not printing money but a salaried person. We will see, but I will keep an eye on 320d.

RM161K for 320d? Where? There is one black 320d asking RM215K, 1000km done.

161K is very good price for the buyer, not so good for the seller!!

Well said Vroom325. Spot On - the engine roar and handling simply puts a smile on the face everytime, it never fails to permeate that joy!:top:
