Just wanna check.
For best pick up, do u guys change the gear when the torque is at the peak around 3k or all the way above 5k only up shift? Which is better?

for best pick up, set to DS mode and floor the throttle; the rocket will launch by itself...:D

So true, mikeyC - love the responsiveness when switching over to DS!
Max torque at 1750rpms, unless you get the performance power kit, which gives you another boost till 2000rpms...wowz.

Happy New Year to all!
Here's to a tekan-tekan-ful :driver: great year ahead!

Just got back from holiday..drove a Honda Civic 1.8L along the Great Ocean Drive..it's a good car...just not a great car. Got into the 320d the moment I got back, and driving it brings instant smiles to the face, doesn't it?

Ya, nothing beats driving our UDM's :) By the way, are the 12 apostles still there along Great Ocean Road or has it diminished to 9/8 apostles? :) Have not been back to Melbourne for more than 10yrs.... :)

Yeap, a few have collapsed into the ocean and only 8 are left now, bro.

Oh...the 8 apostles now, huh...hmm....but still a great place. The scenic view is awesome and if you had the UDM there, driving through the great ocean road is ...simply priceless. I miss the food, yumcha, St'Kilda beach, the great ozzie barbe, VB, phoa, fast eddie's glutton's special and milk shakes, etc...etc...

Did all the above M3ac bro except fast eddie's...didn't see them. Yeah...would have been been even a greater GOR drive if had a beemer!

Nonetheless, the state of Victoria and its surraoundings r still one of the best places to live......Any idea how much does the 320d with similar specs (MY specs) cost in AUD?

Good question, and especially 2 or 3 years down the line. Diesels are great when new but strangely they age quicker than petrol cars and become smokey/rattly quickly. If it were a slightly used example, would you still put your money on a diesel?
