The BMW Performance Dynamic package is rubbish, the kit creates more aerodynamic drag and no performance improvement. All cosmetic. I also already have more power then the promoted 320d performance kit, but the car still isn't responsive or fast enough. My mark is to out beat a B8 2.0Q.

You need a manual transmission to shave roughly half a second off the century sprint to say 7.5 seconds but that's almost a second off the A4 2.0T. Might be easier with the twin turbo diesel but the combo of a quattro + turbocharged petrol + DSG is hard to beat if the century sprint is what you're after.

Go for a long distance race lah, like the Peugeot/Audi diesels at Le Mans :D

Hi all,

I am sure some of our freinds had done 1st service on our 320d. It has been 3 months and i have already clocked about 10k plus on the mileage..Should I send for service now or wait until it reaches 13000K as being set..? Oh ya, so far i have encountered :

1. All 4 doors bunyi bising, rattling and all..solution : Teflon tape, so far ok but it seem like the rattling to be back soon :)
2. Warranty claim for defect Headlight - Still waiting and waiting..

Thanks

apujegah I was told to send it in at 10k km for the first service by my sales advisor. I'm not there yet though, still on my way but I plan to go in at 10k km.

btw do you have the musty AC smell issue?

The AC smell is from the AC air-intake. If you wash your engine bay and wasn't careful, you could have wet your intake. New cars don't normally develop fungus that rapidly, must have been prematurely exposed to lots of moisture.

You can try cleaning the filter, and if that doesn't work, you can ask BMW to reverse the blower to flush out the contaminants.

Zhul,

I have spotted this defect during delivery..it looks like painting/spraying defect on the inside..only on one side though. Ermmm why it took so long to get mine while yours only take a week? Need to call and follow up more often now :)

regards

I'll probably give the intercooler upgrade a try. Getting more cold air into the engine bay isn't easy with our weather, so the intercooler upgrade looks like the only way for now.

How much would the intercooler upgrade cost? Or how much does the intercooler cost...is it from BMW, Mel?

There is a bulletin from BMW about the AC smell and how it's "fixed", I've been trying to arrange a time to send mine in but haven't had much free time. The guys at AB Sg Besi knows about it, I'm assuming AB Kuantan would know too...

This issue has been discussed last time as quite a number of people here experienced it. Here's the link:

I went to AB Sg. Besi last April and they managed to change my air-cond filter FOC because it is covered under BSRI. Now the smell has gone :)

I'm not sure yet, still doing research... All I can say is its not from BMW.

320d vs 520d

Hi guys! Don't bother for now changing so fast to the 520d. I tried the 520d just 2 days ago at the BMW PJ Trade Center Premium Selection Sale and it is a different ride altogether-more of a family cruiser-no grunt and no torquey pick up like the 320d, although it shares the same engine. But...if you still want a 2010 April 520d they are selling used manager/demo cars for MR298,000. I think.. not that great a deal, after all it's an outgoing model and you don't feel that torquey diesel character. Still.... they had 4 units and 3 were snapped up on the first day itself proving that diesel cars have caught on and there's less and less negativity about diesel in the eyes of the Malaysian public nowadays. We, however, have driven the 320d and it's an entire different kettle of fish-definitely so much more fun!! Aren't we all....JUST LOVING IT?.....So any of you all tried the 520d before, what's your feedback?

The 320d is already under powered, can't imagine driving a larger sedan with the same pee engine.
