BMW 320d Sports - Limited Edition

Well, different mags may have different "car of the year award". As much as I love the torque from the diesel engine, I think 320d is overpriced.

A better value car here, in my opinion (I might get flattened here) is.... Audi A4 1.8TFSI (RM235k vs 255k)

I wonder why Whatcar didn't pick the 320d M Sport as their top pick for compact executive car of the year winner and instead picked a 320d ES? The M Sport version costs more but didn't win the award. However, they did disclaim they picked the 320d for "its superb economy and low emissions". If that is what you are looking for in a BMW, then yes the 320d is the best choice. Other BMW owners may not look for such attributes tho.

In terms of World car award titles, the E90 clinched it in 2006 and the N52 won Wards 10 Best Engine of the year awards 2 years consecutively (2006, 2007).

I understand and share your happiness with your 320d. But I would suggest that you refrain from scorning the other 3 series and their owners. 320i may be "so yesterday", but some purchased it yesterday, when the diesel model are not available. It would be unfair to mock, for example, 320i owners for buying them in the 1st place. After all you don't expect 320i owners to sell their cars and get a diesel model? To each his own.

Further, there are also proud owners here of the more powerful 3 series, such as 325, 330 335 etc. which is definitely not inferior to the 320d.

Let's put it this way. Others respect your choice. So respect others' choices.

What makes you say that? I'm a non-320d user and the LAST thing I want to do is to own a 320d! Why would I want to downgrade to a 4-cylinder, non-idrive model that to me sounds like a truck? If you like that, fine with me. As Jazzler said, others respect your choice, so respect others' choices.
