Just bought myself a Delkor DIN66 battery as compared to the OEM's 55Ah capacity....The battery doesn't fit perfectly in the compartment.... haih...anybody experienced the same thing? Apparently, its slightly longer and about an inch short. The shell shaped clamp's screw isnt long enuf to reach the battery... What's next? Plan to change it to DIN 88 to see if it fits...anybody?

Oh..u mean there's another Delkor DIN 66 model? I wanted a higher current rating than the stock's 55AH.

bro, i am using DIN 85 or 88 (forget oledi) but it fit almost perfectly, i remember someone using DIN 100, that is the biggest our E46 can go, that member who use DIN 100 mention it fit 100% perfectly well in the compartment

why you guys change to a batt with more power? any reason too? longer life? power amps?

Based on the owners manual, I believe the diesel E46 variants use the largest battery and the 4 pots the smallest. Size wise the mount for the battery is adjustable in the trunk. However for the clamp you may need to go to check out spare/used parts store to get the size for an E46 6 pot battery clamp.

Anyway, the interesting thing is that the CKD 6 pot E46 comes with NS80 battery which is bigger than what was specified in the owners manual. Thats what I remember, but its a good thing. They last 5-6 years, and perhaps put less strain on the alternator in our hot tropical weather. I suspect this is the reason they came with bigger batteries.

E46F,

the larger battery would have a lower height u mean, hence the need to go after the 6-potter's clamp?
