I was invited by Euromobil to attend their AUDI Quattro Experience 2005 which was held at the open car park next to 1U. The slot which I have selected was Mon, 23 May 2005 at 1.00 pm, which was the most popular slot, hence I couldn't invite anyone to come along as it was fully occupied by invited guests. (Sorry alvin!)The cars which were used in the experience were 3 Audi A8 6.0 & 3 Audi A6 4.2. The cars were flown in from Germany for the even, hence they were all left hand drive models. The A8s were used in the ABS brake test while the A6s were used in the slalom test. The tests were supervised by two former rally champions from Europe (can't remember their names now, sorry). The slalom test was more fun as it was not done on a single line but 3 loops which consisted of 3 U-turns. Again, I was very impressed with the expenses & effort that were put in by Euromobil & Audi Germany in organising this event. Looks like they are making this a yearly event.Briefing

I was there. It was certainly an good learning exercise. I especially like the little autoX track. I managed to go 5 times all without ESP so my tail end was coming out a few times. Also noticed that the car has lots of understeer.

Been a huge fan of Quattro since I own an Audi. But quite honestly, the little made up autoX track doesn't really display the handling characteristics of quattro. If they could only use it in the rain.

Thanks for posting the picture. Do you have more?

I saw a red Z4 parked next to the slalom area, was that you? Were you in the red group or yellow group? I was in the red group who went for the slalom test first, I wanted to spent more time as I couldn't quite control the car especially in the second loop, I carried too much speed out of the corner.

I have less problem in the ABS test, manage to pass the test after 3 runs.

BM5,

Wah, I always think u r the real sifu in driving....being invited to such things is proof enugh for me!!!

Please give me some pointers-lah...he he.

Back to topic, yes - I think that's the best way to sell the car. Do a road show and let the car do the talking!!!!! Even if some will not buy, the hopefully good impressions will help convience others!

Hey, don't flatter me, we all know who's the real sifu! :p

Although the event was held in the car park of a highly popular shopping centre, there're hardly any spectators looking at us. We must be really bad in our skill so no ones were impressed, or they just don't bother?

I gather that you have an Audi Quattro outside the country, so you must be familiar with car.

I noticed a particular driver who did very well in the slalom while I was waiting at ABS Test area, that must be you then.

Thanks for the kind words. I'm not sure it it was me but it does help that my car is left hand drive. And I have been AutoXing in the past.

of course. You name it and I'll do it.
Actually been involved in time trial events, driver school (quattro club), autoX in the U.S. Also go into some road races at some of the famous tracks.

Never been to Sepang but planning on going.

Been trying Karting lately since I got back to M'sia. Would like to run with guys that are more experienced :p
