All My meter not functional--- ( bmw 318i )

Try to dowload the file below. It in pdf format and it shows the wiring diagram of the instrument cluster and other instrument, sensors etc..

I hope you know abit of electrical wiring ir else it is going to be stress session for you.

Can anyone help? I have a problem with the digital panel for the mileage.. Half the display goes off.. As in, the top of the number is on and the bottom off.. Please help as to the rectification required for this problem..

Hi bro, Im having this problems too.. Only half display.. I know why this happen to mine,cause the meter was taken in and out too many times till the back of the panel is loose.(when i slightly hit the meter it appeal!).The digital panel is an individual panel by itself. I haven yet to dismantle it yet to see if thats the real cause,but will update it when im done..

Bro! i'm having the same problem...change the speedometer and everyhting working ok...as my mechanic informed me...it's the connection at the rear of the speedometer 'rosak' cannot repair...

i had the same problem recently.car starts well and runs fine but rpm meter,fuel gauge,temp and mileage not working.Replace complete meter,problem solved.if you are changing it with a used unit,try a few because some are defective too.
