Anyway do you all give them a tip after they are done? I do..what abt the rest of you?

Yup, just some small tip for "teh tarik"... :smokin:

If they go the extra mile to solve your problem, I think giving a tip is the least we can do. ;)

Dear dungbtle for your info AAM has almost 400,000 members. And there are nation wide. They provide free towing service in klang valey and all major town from kangar to Johor Bharu to Kota Bharu. You have to this conclussion on your friend who has waited for 2 hrs at KLIA. Just for your info i think it will take anybody almost 1and half hour to reach KLIA and this is two truck so it will be slower.AAM will always put their tow truck in zone where break down is regular which is KL,PJ,Shah Alam,Subang and Klang, and KLIA is not the red zone. What would have happen is on that time there many break down so they would take turn to attend. Just to give you a number subang jaya it self has 6000 members. So my friend i wish you do your home work first before posting.I dont know how many roadwarrior memebers are but i am sure not 400,000 members. AAM has been around for 75 yrs so i am sure they know what they are doing. MrXXX being a car person you should know about your car. AAM only carry tyre tool for common nut wheel. The person you should be angry is the as#!@$le who fitted the nut there which is your mechanic, so pls go and sula him not AAM. Talking about break down service... To share my experience...

Got the tyre punched one day and call the AB toll free line... Guess what reply did I receive?

'Sir, you are on RFT, so you still can drive the car for about 100km. So why not you drive your car to the nearest tyre shop and have your tyre check or replace if necessary. Today is holiday, and we having man-power shortage at this very moment. Plus, I do not have a spare tyre with me. So if I go down, the only thing I can do is tow your car back to AB and drive you home thats all.'

What and how should I react?

I can just say I am totally disgusted with his attitude and service.

With regards to AAM's latest pricing of RM75, the service regulations also have changed. Unlike before where a member is entitled to the service no matter whose or which car he/she drives, but now AAM has issued a new membership card with the member's car reg.number imprinted on it. It seems an AAM member is now entitled to only 2 cars for the service unlike before.

I've been a member with AAM for more than 2 years and i must say their service is excellent so far. Except everyone shud note that AAM will NOT entertain members who do not carry along a spare tyre in the car during a puncture.

I think that's fair. If one don't look after one's side of things, don't blame AAM.

What exactly do you expect them to do? Even a tyreman cannot repair an RFT by the roadside. Why should they carry a spare tyre for you? Sorry bro, but if it was me I would have say to you what for you want to have RFT tires if you don't want to use them during puncture?

For RM6.25 a month (previously RM5.00) don't expect people to be your slave. E90 owners with RFT tyres but don't want to drive on the punctured RFT and don't want to carry tyre puncture kit or spare, or but expect roadside assist people to carry a spare for them, should look in the mirror before being disgusted with the roadside assist people.

I'll add that with all the different wheel sizes out there from Kancil to Landcruiser, how can AAM or any other service be expected to carry spare tires for all cars? That's a crazy expectation! :)

Yes I agree that everyone should have a spare tyre but sometimes you knowlah somethings just dont go right ...like in my case on the day I dont have my spare tyre I had a blow out (hit something in the middle of the highway)...and AAM's job is to assist me but just bcos of me not having a spare tyre I am left stranded and wondering what the hell I am paying for...what they could have done was at least still come and assist me ...and serve me a warning.

Bro XXX, what did you want them to do for you? Tow your car on the flat tyre and wreck your rim? Or tow it from the other end and wreck your transmission?

Like Schwepp say, take a look at all the cars on the road. Do you expect AAM to have a spare in each van for each wheel size from kancil to big 4x4, 4 nut/5 nut hub, spacers, etc so can fit all cars on the road? Please la...even a very good tyre shop cannot provide a spare wheel for every car on the road. And you expect it from AAM for RM6.25 per month?

i agree wit u mr meetoo

wei XXX, if i were the AAM guy hah surely i refund yr RM75 fees and ask u alwz to put yr spare tyre on OK ...................SIMPLE wat? yeeeeeeeehhhhhhhaaaaaaaaaaa

Bailey I just hope one day sumthing like that happen to you and then you know how i feel.....

AAM has flat bed trucks all I ask was to at least assist by taking my car to the workshop, for your info the rim was wrecked also after hitting the unidentified object lying in the middle of the road ..after all its their duty to assist their members who are in trouble and in this situation I was in trouble... is that not my right as a paying member. it has nothing to do with having all kind of tyre size or nut...at least assist your member who now is in trouble...after all thats what he paid for. I mean do you always go around looking for trouble, you dont it sometimes just so happen....and AAM is what I paid for, it was for some sort of insurance for when i get into trouble and when I do, Im not entitled to it bcos I was blardy unlucky not to have my spare tyre that day....and this is after 10 years as a member and my first time calling for assistance...put yourself in my shoes how would you feel.

Did you not read my earlier story abt how the AAM guy when out of his way to fetch me to get my lock nut...now that is what Im talking abt......to come and assist your member who is in trouble get out of trouble...and not just leave him hanging..

Also why are you getting so personal abt AAM, you work there?

Peace bro. No, not working there. Just don't like unjustified complaints of what I considered to be a good honest service with good people working there.

Actually you didn't mention that you ask for a flatbed. You said "...once I had blow out and had no spare tyre, needed them to tow my car to the workshop, they say cannot bcos I got no spare tyre, wtf?" So what happen? Did they refuse to send a flatbed?

After I said I got no spare tyre they just say sorry we cannot help you, company policy, Bye Bye..thank you for calling...Im like ...huh!!??

Next time if this situation happens I will just say my car cannot move and needs to be towed Im not goin to tell the truth anymore, since now I know this is how they work.

OIC... I agree that's not a good answer. That's also a good tip for the rest of us! :)
