tips for driving tru floods
-if u have no choice, switch to lowest gear, never take your foot off the accelerator, if u keep constant pressure then water will not back flow into your exhaust if water level is higher then exhaust outlet
- do not speed and try to rush tru the flooded area, going fast creates a bow wave that increase the water level (i was with Ford, we had 3 Rangers disabled when journos rushed into a shallow river and the bow wave created destroyed the radiator fans)
- if your car dies in middle of flooded street, DO NOT attempt to restart the car...doing so will just cause your car to further ingest more water. get out and try to get help to push your car to one side
if u come back and find your car in flooded area...leave the car there if water is above bumper level...it will be fine once its dried out..if u try to start it, u kill your engine

Wife drove thru flooded area few weeks ago and i guess the water rushed thru the engine thru the air filter inlet. lucky already inlcude flood cover in the recent insurance renewal. lesson learned - avoid flood area. if has to drive thru even low level flooded area, make sure drive slowly, dont engaged the turbo....

Fully switch off...our Efficient Dynamic is the main reason why our air suction being design lower than before...so buy a flood coverage if you dare to go through the flood...

You cannot imagine the relief when my car passed the compression test with flying colors...apparently zero damage n the engine is purring away like before *sigh of relief* overall 3.5k damage to the wallet consisting of total system flush x 2 + lubes + filters x 2 and misc. Towing was also charged as it was not due to mechanical malfunction but rather wrath of god. Miss my torque...miss my baby...kudos to Beamer for settling my car promptly just before Xmas...time for some insurance topup
